I just cried my heart out tonight because of frustration from my partner (though not his fault - he's just insensitive tonight) and from the frustrations of my life. I just had a good cry and told him after my crying session so as he would know my sentiments and I feel better already.
Does crying make you feel better? or am I just weird because it does make me feel better.

You definitely not weird, just human. Crying is a natural way of easing tension and grief building up inside you and when the pent up emotions a released, it naturally makes you feel better. It is much better to cry and let your pent up emotions out rather than have them bottled up inside you and carry on with the pain. Sharing your thoughts is another way of releasing your tension and I think you have done the right thing, now try and do the thing which feels right to remedy the situation and keep smiling.

You are right Abhikmjmdr. Crying is one of the ways that our body can relieve stress and pressure of everyday life and most people do tend to feel better afterwards. I look at it as a cleansing process when I cry. Years ago I read where some doctors and other professionals said that NOT crying was possibly one factor as to why men seem to have a shorter life span than women sometimes. Many men do not think it is manly to cry and they suppress a lot of emotions that would lead to crying.

Thank yo friends for the thoughts shared. Indeed crying is normal and I was just merely thinking about it because sometimes I wonder if I'm over-melo-dramatic at times that it takes me a mere second to cry about something that's very petty (like seeing old couple together, or a cute baby or puppy.) hehe..
Anyhow, it's true that it's better to let it out through tears than bottling it up until the time you explode because of too much bottled-up emotions. Perhaps this is the main reasons why there's a lot of attacks in countries, too much bottled-up emotions that when exploded created a great fiasco.
Thanks again for the thoughts, have a great mylot experience ahead!

Hmmm. I know that crying could lighten the load, but how could crying bring disease? Hmmm.. perhaps you're referring to people having lower immune systems when they're sad or depressed, that's why they could easily get sick? Is that it? or is there something else?
Thanks for the response, have a great mylot experience ahead!

Hi laydee
Weird, not at all. You are a human with feelings. I have those moments to where it seems that everything that I do comes crashing down in my face. I know that the attitudude with your husband may have only been the last straw. Getting the feelings out by crying does help a person feel better. It is those who hold it in that ends up going off the deep end at some point. So my friend cry if that is what you want to do. It is fine and very healthy in the end. Great discussion and keep smiling my dear.

Nobody ever thinks there is a good reason to cry. Most of the time we don't cry for happiness. We cry because we are upset about something. It may not seem possible, but sometimes we really do need to have a good cry. It's a good soul cleanser. Often times after crying, problems don't seem to be as big or intolerable. Crying is our body's way of dealing with our pain.

Some time feel better if tears came because if tears are not came then mind is blocked. Crying and sharing your problem is good habit.

You're not weird at all. Crying always makes me feel better. It's good to be able to release your emotions sometimes and not keep things bottled up, which I have a bad habit of doing. I have a terrible temper and crying is the one thing I always seem to do to make myself feel better.

laydee it depends on why you are crying if its because of a misunderstanding with someone tears can help but if its a situation that cannot be altered no tears do not help. I
wept bitter tears when I first came here but what good did
'that do? my son was still out of work and I did not have any'
place else to stay.so here I am and now I try to smile and laugh
as what the heck else can I do?

I would rather not cry and I try my best not to, but there are times I just can't help it. When I was a child I was super sensitive and cried very easily. As I got older I developed a thicker skin, but there are still times I can't make myself not cry. I can't say crying makes me feel better, but I've accepted the fact that that's how I am.

Sometimes crying makes me feel better, I mean I felt like my burdens (some of it) were gone away. I can't say that it's weird that you feel crying makes you better. When we mention something, then we use our own point of view about that something, and it seems like we see 'crying' as an alternative way to make us feel little bit better. =)

Well I think that was what crying was made for to help you just get a release and a fresh perspective after what was causing you much pain and distress. The thing is there are just times and situation where you are overwhelmed and the best way is just to let it out ,feel some self pity and then move on towards finding a solution .Granted though because of machismo I might no cry out aloud but I will still holler in private and feel good after lol.great discussion

Having a good cry once in a while makes anyone feel better. crying is one of the few ways we can release our pent up frustrations and stress and also comforts us. Dealing with the daily stress of life, crying a little occasionally does help me to feel better and i feel more refreshed and alert after a good crying session.

Yes somehow, crying makes me feel a bit better too. Crying makes me release some of the pains I am trying to get hold in my chest. It is a relief especially when there is someone comforting and listening to you when you are crying. It is not a weird feeling laydee. It is like letting go of something, we let go by crying and those tears are the way to release those pains inside us.

hi,laydee ,I think crying in the field can release stress,it is a way to adjust the emotion.once I have this experience ,when I was a student, during that time I feel very bad ,I do not know why I have this mood.then I stand at a river near my shcool ,I shouted to the river, shouted ,I use my biggest volume to ask the river :"where is my future?"but the river do not answer me,sound reverberating in the whole river, tears streaming down my face.after a while, I feel better than before,I finally got the release of a bad mood.

hey laydee, crying has always been the outlet of my frustrations, anger, loneliness... and yes after i've cried my heart out i'll always feel better. it's easier to pour out all those frustrations after i had a good cry. it's just embarrassing after all the crying is that my face feels puffy and of course the eyes will be swollen and red and you've got a runny nose! but it's okay at least i'm feeling better! :D

It makes me a lot better if I will cry, but that is really seldom, I only cry when I am really angry and when I am really sad, sometimes when I laugh so hard. hehe. Crying makes me tired that I sometimes feel sleepy and when I wake up, I feel that I am stress free.
