I would like to suggest you to go for HP or Compaq which are more reliable to purchase and having good services. They have service points spreading all over the nation so you can get good service easily.

I personally like Compaq's and HP's which are the same company if you want to get technical. Compaq's are usually cheaper than HP's by a couple hundred, but both are excellent computers. Acer's tend to be on the somewhat cheaper side as well, I've personally never used one but I know people who have and I've never heard of any one having problems with the company.
Don't use Dell's, myself included and everyone I know who has ever used one has never had anything but problems. My mom bought a desktop a few years ago and not even a week after having it, they had to come and replace the hard drive and they charged us for a CD Burner but forgot to install it and than wouldn't install one, talk about jerks!!!
The better computer you want performance wise, memory, hard drive, etc is going to depend on how much you want to spend. If you want a computer that is just going to get you on the Internet, checking your e-mail and doing daily tasks than I'd say an Acer is fine.
If your into graphics and web design than don't go using a PC, you can but Apple MAC's are better for that.
I hope this helps some...have a good night!!

Hi birda,
I'm using asus and its really good and works for me. well in all honesty it is hard to find the "cheapest" if your looking for great quality laptops. you really have to invest to get the best i guess.

So you're looking for best value for your money. You can have a look at dell products. Also acer laptops. And compaq too. Just try to see each brand. For me they're one of the best out there and they're not that expensive too. Best value for your money.

That is really hard to say, as I don't really know all that much about them, and which is etter than others. I have had compaq latptops, and now I have a Gateway, and I like it better than the Compaq. I have never had a Dell, so I can't say anything good or bad about them. It hink it all depends on what you plan on doing with the computer and the hardware you want on the computer. I wish I could hlep you, but I only know about the Compaq and the Gateway, and neither one are the best, at least fro most people. You should just check them out first and see what each have for what you need, and take it from there. Take care and happy mylotting.
