Has anyone used free online advertising sites?

Hi MyLotters, I started affiliate marketing recently, but am trying to keep the budget in check. After perusing around, I found sites such as Inetgiant.com that seem to be half-way decent and offer free advertising for your business or products. Have any of you ever tried sites like this for your advertisements? If so, what were the results? Did you like them? Was it worth it? Does it only appear good and then yield no results? I appreciate all feedback! THANKS! :)
