though pain is a negative thing, it is still a necessity in every relationship so that lovers would end up strong especially when it comes certain instances that might affect ones foundation in a relationship.

Hmm tough, I think the saying means that it is much easier to hurt when you are in love. For example if they live away from you or if they fall ill etc. Being in love means you have opened yourself up to someone and that makes you more open to hurt. The fact that it hurts sometimes is a small price to pay for being in love:)

Love never hurt. Only lovable person can hurt out heart. May be because of the possessiveness , much care, so many things makes to hurt because of love but love never hurt anyone.

It hurts like hell.The pain in your chest feels terrible and it is not Angina.You want to be with your loved one at all times and when that is not possible it causes a pang which really does not let you concentrate on anything else. It is even worse when it is one sided and you keep on striving to make him or her believe that they should feel the same way as you do towards them!
