Back on August 20th I had my left kidney removed! 54 years old and never thought that would have happened to me. It was a very serious operation. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. And I have not felt right since the whole thing happened. But this is not my only health problem. I am also diabetic, type two. That is what happened to my kidney. Then after that I developed this thing with my stomach called gastroparesis. It mean that not only and I on a weird diet my nerves in my stomach are dead and I throw up alot. I am in pain alot. I am on Lortab 10's all the time. A big baby when it comes to pain. I have 8 disks in my back that are dissolving. So my question is how do you handle pain in your life?

i was hit by a car about 20 years ago and landed on my knees and with the wear and tear of 20 years plus two pregnancies, well my knees are much older than i am and also the source of constant pain, plus i have asthma. i work 3 mornings a week outside the house and do crafts and whatnot in the house to keep my mind off the pain.

I wouldn't call you a big baby! That is a whole lot of pain and it is nothing to be ashamed of! I don't deal to well with pain either but I usually just try to sleep pain away if i could. The worst pain I've experienced is only menstrual cramps. And I cried. Hehe... Makes me cry for my mommy and I'm 25 now. I don't take meds because someone advised me against it as I might grow more immune to the pain. Hope you get a lot better.

Hi CC, majority of your problems comes because of high level of acidity in your system. Pain is caused directly by high levels of acidity, our nerves are always in pain due to this acidity. The same neural receptors which sense acidity, are the ones through which we sense pain. Pain and diabetes can be regulated BY BALANCED DIET - for the beginning!!! I researched this subject a lot, so some tips, about diet and other methods of healng pain you can read in my article: http://hubpages.com/hub/pain-cure Wishing you all the best.

That must be a terrible pain you are going through, your body's tolerance to pain must be good even with the help of the medicines you are taking. I don't really have much pain aside from my lower back. A wrong move like sneezing on a wrong posture, or picking up something not on the right position will trigger the pain. Normally a few painkillers and a brief period of rest will do the trick. I try as much as possible not to use too much painkillers. Pain is helpful sometimes, because it's my body's own way of telling me "I have enough, take it easy on me" have a great day.

i lost my left one to renal cell carcinoma in 2005 , but i do not have diabetes, however i do have degeneration in all my disc's i think thats a side effect myself. the v.a. hospitials had me on vicodin 3 times a day for 4 years for pain until i got tired of walking around in a cloud, i went to my primary and asked her to get me into therapy, i went 3 times a week for 1 1/2 months ,do my daily exercises and am off all pain pills for the last 8 months, allll of them . now you tell me why they didnt tell me about this 4 years ago ? because then the pharmacutical companys wouldnt get their cash and thats bull sh!t, if you can, try physical therapy foe stabilization it did wonders on my spine and im pain free except when i do things i shouldn't like digging gardens etc, or lifting extreme weights. good luck

Hi cookie', I am in constant pain every day due to breaking my back in 1993, there arevtwo discs wearing away, I have a curvuture of the spine at the top and bottom also arthritis there too, pain killers don't work for me so have just learned to live with it and do ordinary things daily, and rest when needed, that is the only way I handle it..being the bone/spine there is really nothing else to do but to live or grin and bear it...LoLo

It's barely two weeks since I was operated, my cervix and ovaries were removed due to my myoma, todate no more pain, should I feel pain, I can just take mefenamic acid. I just hope there'll be no more pain in the days and years to come. I just hope you'll overcome the pains with the pain relievers plus prayers. Reading Psalm-91 can be a big help to relieve pains. Am praying and wish you get well...

Sorry to hear about all the pain you are in just keep taking your medicine for the pain. I do have acid reflux disease I take the one pill a day for the acid. Sometime I have to go to the chriopractor for and adjustment. Other than those two thing I have been lucky so far and do not suffer from any other pain and I am 61 years old.

Hi cookie, Sad to hear that, you are really going through a lot of pain and it's persistent I gathered. Mine is all passing, I've been through a lot of pain when I've undergone hysteroscopy and other procedure to ensure good results before doing the IVF (In vitro fertilization) treatment. By the way, these are infertility procedures and IVF itself was very stressful. (You can refer to my discussion on same topic to fully understand the procedure)However, I've surpassed all of this and will soon savour the success of my struggle of becoming a mother. I'm now pregnant and due for delivery end of this month. For most women it would come so easy for them getting pregnant but for me it has been a great effort. In your case, I belive you'll soon come to end your pain just pray and believe in HIM that you may have more strenght to bear the pain and surpass all those in time. God Bless!

Ouch. I sure feel for you. That is a lot for one person to have to go through. I have been to the doctor today, and right now, i am in pain, but i just took a pain pill, and it should be better in a few minutes. Yours, on the other hand, is a different story. You really need to be careful with that diabetis. Sure hope you get better soon.

Hi cookie, you seems to be carrying a lot of health problems in your life. I have never have such a major health issues in my 51 years of living but my main problem now is my weight which I don't seem to be able to shed which result in having to take BP medications to control my blood pressure. The doctor told me that I have to take my pills for life! I am already controlling my food intake but there seems to be no effect. I think with our age, we should be more particular on what we eat.

It really all depends on the person. Some people can take a T'3 and have no pain at all. Others will pop Oxycontin and Percacets like candy and it won't do nothing for them. I was in a car accident over 3 years ago and have chronic back, hips and leg pain. Let me tell you it is not fun at all. I since been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and arthritis in both hips. I have had 2 surgeries on my left knee and going in for the 3rd since it is baring alot of weight on that one knee. I have tried everything that you can think of out there with no luck on anything. I do have a high tolerance to pain but I really wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy. I basically grin and bare it. I literally can't do nothing for my pain just to live and try to cope with it. In the long run I do pay for it on most days. All I can suggest is talk with your doctor and see if they can put you on something that will help reduce your pain. Otherwise you might just have to grin and bare the pain.

I'm also a type II diabetic, but under better control I was DX in 1999. Little pan although the health could be better only have to take OTC pain medication once or twice a month, but I have a IDEA of what your going through.

i am sorry to hear about your experience and can only wish you the strength to bear it all. it is really not easy to handle pain as one has to bear it till it lasts. proper medication is perhaps the only practical solution. faith and belief also help at a time like this. do take care of yourself.....good luck.
