So I was checking out Yahoo News headlines and came across the article about French Vogue October issue which is SUPPOSE to be centered around "supermodels"...Unfortunately for whatever reason there werent any black supermodels in the issue..instead they "blackfaced" a white model... http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/beauty/french-vogue-does-blackface-since-when-is-this-ok-525789/ I personally find this not only offensive to a degree but confusing...there are NUMEROUS gorgeous and still working black supermodels in the industry so why werent any of them asked to be part of the shoot? in the article it also brings up a recent blackface moment on an Australian show that had Harry Connick Jr, who was a guest judge, up in arms (I'd heard about it briefly last week but never did look into it)....I also remember when Ted Danson showed up at I believe it was an awards show a few yrs back in black face that caused an uproar.... the end of the article (link above) asks this We've made such progress in the battle against racism, is there really any reason anymore to use blackface? How do you feel about all the recent blackface appearances in pop culture? so, whats your opinion on it all?

IMO the fact that people are up in arms and offended by this means there is still racism in the world today.
