Hi there mylotters! I'm wondering about this in my head right now, usually mylotters tells that there is no reply or only a little bit reply on their discussion, so i wanna know if there was a topic that you avoid to reply/discuss with another, what kind of topic/discussion that you avoid to do a reply? Personally, i use to avoid a topic that sometimes it's connected about the starter feelings when they are in mad emotion since they are in mad condition, everything could be sensitive for the topic starter, so i better not to make a response in the discussion, how about you? Tell the reason why you avoid it

The kind of topic i avoid are topics which i can not relate to. Or some discussions by someone whom i don't know that much. Regarding the topic on mad emotions, yes i do get you. I think i can not or i am not in the position to help him/her. But it also depends.

Yes, I also avoid those kind of topics but I forgot to include that on my response. When I am not familiar with the subject, I usually jump to another discussion because I don't have any idea about a particular topic so, how can I answer it? And If I tried to answer that, It may lead to posting wrong information that can cause getting negative rating so better avoid them and move on other discussions, there are lots of discussions to choose from many interests for us to respond.

I think there is nothing wrong with it since we all have different interests.

hello maxilimian, Well, there are some specific interest that am avoiding for quite some time. First, Politics from the other countries, likely in the Western and Asian Countries other than my own because i know that it's completely out of my league. then, topics that are not related to my interest and some what are short and least content. and then, lastly, the traditions that has nothing to do with my religion...and yes i do stay away from Religion, it's the worst topic to be discussed.

I never reply on that topic (politics) also, since i don't know and don't master it, so it is far from my interest things but i wonder why did you said religion is the worst topic to be discussed?

Well, about the two topics that you mentioned, I have to avoid both of them, as it may cause a decrease to my rating. When others do not agree on a particular post, mostly happens on politics and religion, they might give negative rating to the user who posted it. Those two interest groups can be a hot spot for arguments because people live in different places, as well as culture so it may affect the person's beliefs.

Good morning...maxi...I avoid ALL topics that I may have an adverse opinion, and it I tread there, I tread very lightly, as it seems those kind of topics, that are truly controversial (oft;religion, politics, cultural differences) are the ones that are either trolled, or deleted! I enjoy discussions of the above, but prefer them in person, with someone I know. Have a great weekend! Cheers!

Quite often, those topics, are misunderstood, and if your wording is NOT terribly specific, you may offend the poster, or repliants! If I am friends with the poster, often I will attempt to reply with humour, or light conversation! I very, very seldom post anything negative...UNLESS, some-one is attacking any of my dear friends here on myLot, then Iwill bring my ARMY of nasty retorts out to defend them! And that is seldom! I am here, because I enjoy it...and hopefully in the spirit of respect & happiness!Cheers...maxi...have a great day!

I generally do not avoid any category mostly on Mylot. I respond most of the categories because most of them are interesting topics to discuss. Due to less time I get no time to discuss most of my interesting topics..

Hello, maxilimian! Well, I also avoid those discussions sometimes. Most of all, the topics I avoid are those abusive ones, if the discussion had violated the rules, of course, it is subject to deletion so I have to avoid them. Next was those discussions under politics or religion as there is a risk of decreasing reputation. It is because all of us here have different opinions and beliefs. When a user post on such kind of topics, there are others who do not agree with him/her. And it may lead to decreasing reputation because others might give negative rating. The rating can also affect the earnings in participation so I have to avoid on them and to increase and maintain my rating. The third one was the one you had mentioned, if the discussion starter puts mad emotion to his/her discussion, he/she might be sensitive. But if the discussion starter was on that mood but needs some advice, I try to help sometimes as I can. Have a nice day!

Very reasonable point that you've explained. But i do replying in some religion topics, as long as i see it didn't redirecting to negative discussion, politics no, since i don't like to talk about politics, and don't master it well You like to help people who needs an advice, that was good, don't stop helping. Have a nice day!

I avoid the topics I don't feel myself experienced enough in, like politics.. But most of the time I do reply in all sort of interests I don't possess. Still there are some categories I find amusing, visit them regularly but avoid indulging in them at all costs for I know I can't handle them. Such an example is spanking someone

Spanking someone?? waw, i never do that but i'm agreed that responding on discussions that we have no experience could making the reply get wrong,or even worse ...

Well, when talking with someone, I somehow don't feel comfortable when the topic comes to my privacy, for example my family, my salary and so on. I just want to keep them private. =) I also avoids starting topic which can make someone else being offended, especially when we express our point of view upon some specific rages and so on.

Reasonable answer, some friends avoid that also when topic goes to offended someone, it's not an interesting topic more to see

Hello maxilimian, I don't know if avoiding is same as choosing topic that I don't give responses just because I don't find it interesting and I got nothing to say about the topic. Like, if the discussion is about sports, and I don't have anything to say about it, I would not respond to that. So maybe, I can safely say that I avoid that topic. But given a chance, that there is a sports topic, and I can give a good information about it, I would certainly give my response to it. have fun mylotting!

Well i think it's different between avoid and choose, when you avoid, it means that you never want to reply or even read the topics, different from choosing, you may and want to read, but you consider to reply it or not, i'll guess it's the different so i think you are choosing

I avoid topic which is a repetitive topics and topics whose ideas is slightly closer to the topics which I recently made. It is very obvious that their are members whose discussion is copy and paste. then, you could sense it with the way the writers uses wording which is very formal and seem no grammatical error, lacking with a sense or expression. It merely dry trying to asking without even citing many details or those one liner questions which is very easy to reply and the member who do it is so lucky having to have more than 50 respondents to reply in which trying to look on their discussion they never make an effort to lengthen it as hey have not think enough. So I think it would be unfair for others who do their own wording and paragraph in their own words showing their own efforts to reach the mind of many respondents understand the messages which they trying to convey. Thus, avoid topics too made by arrogant lotters who think they are always right and never ever see their own dirt.

It's hard to avoid grammatical error, though it could be happen by miss typing but copy paste discussion i think it's breaking the rules, isn't it?

I reply only to those discussions that make me think. So, I avoid anything which does not make me think..lol.. It's not really avoiding such discussions, it's more about those discussions not being able to attract my attention. Apart from that, I actually avoid "copied topics". If I have responded to a specific discussion and see that someone else has started the same discussion later, I avoid it.

Avoid copied topics is really a good way to do, but i'll try to response even in complex topics as long as i can left something on the page about it but in fact, i do not like to open topics that need me to think, so i'll try to make it simple and easy to type, just pop out in my mind and type

Hi, Max! I am supposed to go through the list of discussions from 'my interests', but I always end up browsing them in the 'recent' list because I seldom can find any interesting topics from 'my interests'. Usually, I will try to avoid those topics that are related to religions or races or political issues. It's a never ending discussion that lead to nowhere and sometimes it will just arouse rage because everybody wants to be right and become personal! I find that I would usually reply on the issues about this site, life, relationship and other things that I thought I don't have any ideas, but as I start to type, I have more to share!

Hi maxilimian. Normally I would avoid topics based on racism, sexist & religion. These topics can be quite dangerous as it might lead to quarrel. Least to say, everybody has their own opinion & we just might contradict each other.

Well, most if the time I avoid controversial issues like existence of God and religion, or something that is similar to that.. I believe that it would just create a negative feeling between two people if they never agree to the post..

I would say that I avoid any topic of discussion that will cause arguing and be controversial. I only respond to certain discussions, and those I stay away from. In fact, I have never even started posting anything in them whatsoever. I am not into arguing with anyone, nor am I wanting to be controversial either. the main ones I will never ever post to, is religion and politics. They are definitely ones that will cause lots of dissenion, and lots of controversy, as there would be lots of disagreeing therre. I am just going to stay with the topic that I nrmally post to, and enjoy myself. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I respond only to topics that I can relate to or something I really know or have an idea of. Our interests that we choose help us find the right topics we can respond to.
