I always here people say things will get better. WHat is it we're striving for? Do you think there will ever be a day where we will actually be able to say that things are okay? I dont. I dont think there will ever be a time where we all okay with the way things are. I dont know why but there is always going to be the people who are struggling to gain more and more power. Greed is something that has been going on since the beginning of time. Its in the bible. I dont think that politicians will ever really be satisfied and agree. I sound like a pessimist. With all the people in the world its unlikely that we will agree on anything. I only hope for the best. How bout you?dl

So true! Even those who go into politics with good ideals end up being sucked into the corruption - they only seem to care about pulling the wool over our eyes while they bleed us dry!
The earth does provide enough for everyone to survive and flourish, but the greedy fat cats at the top take so much that there isn't enough left. the thing is, we let them away with it!

Very true. That alone gives us the hope we need. I only wish that we could do something to expedite the situation. I dont mean the world ending or anything like that. I mean if we as people, citizens, and friends, could come together to help make every person in the world equal. I am doing my part. dl

God's purpose for the earth is for a paradise covered earth with perfect people. Ge.1:28; 2:8-15. God's purpose is certian. Isa.55:11; 46:10,11. The earth will be filled with peacful perfect men. Ps.72:7; Isa.9:6,7. Rev.21:3-7. The earth it self willnever be destroyed or depopulated. Literal earth to be permanent. Ec.1:4; Ps.104:5. Mankind of Noah's time was destroyed not the earth. 2Pe.3:5-7; Ge.7:23. Examplegives hope of surviving in our time. Mt.24:34-39. Wicked destroyed a "great corwd" survive. 2Th.1:6-9; Re.7:9,14. Only a limited numberto be kings with Christ. Re.5:9,10; 20:4. Many others will live on earth.Re.14:1,3; 7:4,9.
A glimpse into our near future. Isa.11:6-9.
We can pray for Jahovah's kingdom to come. Mt.6:9-13.
Jahovah's time we dont know we can only pray and wait on him. I know iam everyday. So many people are in fear of what is coming. Not me. I want his kingdom to come.

I agree with you. There are nasty people about who love to call racist, or point the finger and accuse. As long as there are these nasty people hiding behind a false front we will have hatred and mistrust. As long as people are intolerant and hateful, as long as there is greed...I can go on and on.
Even if you could turn all the negatives into positives you would have no balance. It's impossible to live in a world free of everything bad.

I watched a program on the TV a while back about human ancestors. Scientists were saying that how each and every human being can trace their family tree back to one woman in Africa, and that we where we all originated.
It was suggested that due to climate change many of us had left our original place in Africa in search of food, and walked off in all directions. Over tens of thousands of years, our shapes and sizes altered to cope with different climates.
At the end of the documentary, the presenter said that there are no different races, we are all one and the same human race, and that our physical appearance has over thousands of years simply adapted itself to survive in different climates.
If we could all jut take this on board, perhaps we can offer more help and compassion to those others that need it. We are all related. Maybe one day, we can all act like we are related. - Derek

I agree with you and all of the responders in your post. The world is not getting any better and that will go on because we had not taken care of it. Our next generation will be inheriting all the fruits of our own deeds.
Greed, hunger for power, envy, lack of discipline are the causes of all these.

You know what really upsets me? The things we could've done to save it were so simple that it's almost embarrassing. If we didn't litter. Stopped using aerosol cans etc. Could've at the very least slowed down the deterioration of the ozone layer. Companies shouldnt have waited until they were threatenend to make their companies eco friendly. Its a shame that it had to come to that. Now people are more apt to become ill, the air is polluted, water sources are disgusting and so on. People could've come together and made a conscious effort. Instead we are a course of destruction. No matter what we should try. Planting trees, gardens etc. is an honest effort. Happy MyLotting dl

While I love to imagine what it would be like if the world was at peace and all was well, but I don't really think that will ever be the case. Assuming our species doesn't self destruct anytime too soon and that we continue to evolve (becoming better as we go), I think there will always be enough disagreement and, as someone else has said, "greed" that we will never be completely at peace. However, I hope that we continue to strive for it and to strive for less violent ways of resolving our problems.

Here, here celestial! Very well said my friend. I almost want to apologize to the next generation. It goes back to parenting. If we teach our children not only to be a good, self-supporting, productive member of society but to recycle, be conscious and respectful to their environment around them, it will help them to respect their world and pass it on to their children. Its just that simple. dl

I completely agree about your environmental stance. I do not have kids yet, but I probably will within the next few years, and I am already making plans on how to educate them, what sorts of values I want to teach them. I want them to understand that the environment is not something "out there." It is our home, and if we don't take care of it, we'll have nowhere to live!

The world is already OK. It's humans who aren't - our expectations are limitless and our desires are stupid. Try being happy with what you have and not needing ANOTHER gadget, a BETTER television/computer/car, MORE material goods, MORE money.
Enjoy the simple pleasures in life. If you have a roof over your head, food in the cupboard and clothes to keep you warm, that's all you really need.

I always hope for the best, too, but nothing is perfect. I think when people say things are okay now, they mainly mean that everything is straightened out with the problem they were having. There have and always will be problems. I think the devil is responsible for just about all of the greed, sorrow, etc. in this world. Kathy.

i don't think the world will ever be ok, but it's possibly predictable the world will be ok in a very long time, say one hundred million years. So we do not need to worry about our futures or our sons', or grandsons', lol. All we have to do is to do what we want to, and enjoy the life everyday. Then we wont feel void when we leave this world.

in my eyes ,I think the world 'll be ok in futrue ,but if complete this process, it' need long time ,now there is much problem, so face so much problem ,the every country must coopration to deal with this .
But in the future .I think the country 'll more like give up trouble and choose coopration .
After all the Coopration could give benifit to every country .but the war only give us disater

I believe that our world will be ok if people have unity and there would be no greedy people at all. I belive that people can change and im not loosing hope for the world to have peace. I think everyone should be aware in what happening and start to change.

I believe the world will be okay in the future, either because some guy comes and saves this world, not like a superhero, just a normal human, but with great qualities because of his childhood and stuff. Alternatively, nature will always restore balance to the world, either by killing or humans or something, but I know that the world would be okay one day.

Just like you I can only hope for the best. God made this wonderful world for us and then mankind had to screw things up usually caused by the Seven Deadly Sins:
"Gluttony", "Greed", "Sloth", "Wrath", "Envy", and "Pride". No wonder "greed" is one of them.

I have heard that said over and over again too. I honestly do not see things ever getting better. No one is making sure it is going to happen for one. Things just get worse daily and it seems that most people just accept it like that.

i think it's up to people to make the world ok. just last night ive witness how people can be so cruel and mean to others and how they feel like they must be in control of others.
but until people see that some do need to change the world will never be alright.

Yes, I agree with your point of view. It seems like this world is getting unwell from time to time. And mainly, it's because we are more than billion people, with billion point-of-views. And nobody wants to lose, yes nobody, not even me. =) Everybody, including me, really wants to express our own point of view. And sometimes it's just too extreme, and other people can't accept it for any other reason. So, we are not one anymore. =) But I always hope that this world is getting better.

Hi dloveli,
Well, its depends on us to make this world a better place to live.
I know that people in some place are suffer from hungers and war.
I really sympathize to them.
But that happen when people doesn't believe in love and relationship between human.
When people just think about themselves and tries to rule the world.
They will make the world become worst place to live and there will be a lot of people suffers from it.

All through history there have been bad times and everyone in those bad times adapt. We all survive these bad times because we learn to live with them.Thats how we get through. So like you hope for the best and get on with it.While the politicians, bankers and all the other greedy pigs help themselves to the rich pickings.
