Taking responsibiltiy for your own actions

Over the last few years in Britain, and I know the same thing happens elsewhere, the "blame culture" is getting bigger and bigger. I get cold call phone calls from people asking me if I have had an accident in the last 3 years and would i like to claim. It really annoys me. I understand if you have had an accident that really wasn't your fault and someone was to blame, but encouraging people to claim is ridiculous! It is causing insurance premiums the world over to increase and in fact will put people out of work as companiwes struggle to pay the insurance or the claim.
Examples of bad claims are available all over the internet, but my experience is people claiming against my bar as they fell over when they were drunk - drink less then and take responsibility for your self, or people fallin when skiing and suing the indoor ski centre i worked at - its not called an extreme sport for nothing!
Why do people not want to take responsibility for their own actions anymore?

I think the answer is that if there's money to be had, some people will try anything to get a share of it. Basically, our expectations are much higher than they used to be, and we seem to think we are entitled to anything going, whatever the circumstances. I may be old fashioned, but to me, there's very little honour and integrity around these days.

I agree with you. Everyone is out for themselves, and there is very little community left. It just angers me that people will shut down a comoany and put people out of work because they cannot use thier own eyes and take responsibility for themselves and want a little money.
People think the world owes them a living!
I must be old fashioned like you!

Hi Sunshine, I didn't realise they's legalised ambulance chasing over in the UK. I saw the start of those dreadful adverts before I left but had no idea it had got that far as cold calling. The next step will be the vultures turning up at the actual scene pushing their grubby little cards in your hand.
You'll have to start retaliaiting, everyone who enters the pub must sign a disclaimer waving their rights away after the first glass.

Hi little mrs sunshine!!
people takes responsibilities some times.
When they are about to get any kind of prize,
When they are in group of people instead of being alone.
When something good happens in company they just want to have all credits to them.
Or else it is hardly we can see any person taking responsibilities when some thing went wrong like in your case...

I think that must be considered as fraud and there must be some strong provision or law to punish the guilty.
i think this type of practices will make the state harder for the deserving candidate and he or she will not be believed as easier in the hard state of himself.
i think there must also be some kind of social responsibility.

The problem is that these are cases that have got money! The courts and the system support these claims and people are now always looking for someone to blame!
