This really shocked me to think how early into his presidency Obama started in his VERY QUESTIONABLE dealings
According to the rules for nomination OBAMA'S NAME WAS SUBMITTED IN FEBRUARY 2009 ONLY TWO MONTH AFTER HIS PRESIDENCY STARTED.... HE HAD NOT ACHIEVED ANYTHING AT ALL TOWARDS PEACE WHAT A FRAUD THIS YEAR'S PEACE PRIZE HAS BECOME!

Process of Nomination and SelectionThe Norwegian Nobel Committee is responsible for the selection of eligible candidates and the choice of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. The Committee is composed of five members appointed by the Storting (Norwegian parliament). The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo, Norway, not in Stockholm, Sweden, where the Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and the Economics Prize are awarded.
How are the Nobel Laureates selected?
1. December 2008 Invitation letter are sent out.
2. February 2009 Deadline for Submission
3. February-March 2009 Preparation of Short List
4. March-August 2009 Adviser Review
5. October 2009 Nobel Laureates are Chosen
6. December Nobel Prize Award Ceremony

Can anyone explain to me how this happened? Your comments please?

It just proves to me even stronger that he is a plant or a puppet for something or someone bigger and badder than himself. That they KNEW he'd be elected even before the campaign was barely begun.

Actually, it wasn't even two months. He was inaugurated January 20th. The nomination for the Nobel prize came just 12 days into his presidency.
Interestingly, it seems that it was not a unanimous decision as previously reported but rather a majority of the Norwegian judges did not think he deserved to win and in fact had only two supporters out of the five.

"The representatives of the Norwegian Conservative, Progress, and Socialist Left parties all objected to the Obama nomination. The two votes of support on the committee came from the nation's Labor Party.
The primary concerns of the objecting parties were Obama's lack of experience on issues related to the objectives of the prize, as well as his "inability to keep his promise."

So again it seems that the Obummer puppet masters who have deep pockets have been buying the "award????" for him.

I think it points out how meaningless the award has become and how it is decided based solely on the political leanings of the judges. They rewarded Obama for his socialist policies and support for global governance and also for telling everyone that America is a big, bad nation that has bullied the world.
They had some impressive people to choose from, people who have put their lives on the line in the name of freedom and peace. They bypassed them to give this to Obama. Meaningless, cheap and soiled.

I don't really know what the heck his nomination was, but my husband (an American) and myself (A Canadian) both agree that politics should be left out of the Nobel Peace Prise UNLESS someone does something amazing, like Shirin Ebadi did a few years ago, with her organization for children's rights. Obama has not been in his position as president long enough to really earn the peace prize.

It seems that we have a different interpretation of what "peace" means from the Nobel Prize people.

Makes you wonder don't it how someone that just took office, and made promises that he would change the world was given such and honor. He had done nothing, so it was just based on what he might do. My first question was how much did he pay for this honor. Seems what ever he wants he thinks he can buy it. I believe that is what he did with the elections. I don't like nor trust the man. And as far as the Nobel Peace Prize goes, it means nothing to me now, many of my friends and people I deal with each day believe the same, and many including my self have emailed them letting them know that we feel this is an and should be considered a fraud against the prize and we no longer are interested or care about their awards. Just another cheap show of how he can get whatever he wants with his cheap, smooth taking way.

I think it was professional courtesy. You know, like when snakes refrain from biting lawyers? That's a nod to their being so alike...i.e., poisonous....
In the same vein (no pun intended), the NPP has been getting further & further far left in the last few decades. I realized this when they gave Carter the prize. Okay, so Carter did hold peace talks at Camp David (& that's worked so well...), but look how anti-American he's been since he left office. He seems never to have met a dictator he didn't like, & just like Obama, he travels around the world bad-mouthing our country. He was also inept & a fraud in office, again just like Obama. Really, the sole difference between the 2 is one of degree, & brazenness!
So I think the NPP people were basically sending a signal of their anti-capitalist bent. And few represent that more than the Socialist Obama. They must be delirious with joy at Obama's gaining the White House! His "achievement" is actually, therefore, very real. It is that he got into office despite his ideology, mostly because the vast majority of American media sold their collective soul to him, & refused to report the truth about him.

Regarding Carter I cannot believe what he is doing these days! On one side he is a mealy mouthed pious hyprocrite with his "holier than thou" attitude and on the other side is joing Obumer by kissing up to every enemy of the USA.
