Staffy's are supposed to be nasty! Thats if you listen to most people we have 2 and evry time i let them off for a run up da fields, people go out their way to avoid them!
My 2 are the most placid dogs you would ever meet and they are both scared of their own shadows lol!
I would like to argue that it is the way a dog is brought up and the way it is treated determines what a dog is like pls comment what do you think?

I love staffys and every single staff I have met so far has been the most gentle and caring dog ever! We really want one but our oldest daughter is a little scared of dogs so we are going to have to wait until shes older and grows out of it (hopefully she will!)

A little heads up on dogs and kids. I have a two yr old and a 11 month old. Two weeks ago we brought a dog home. We loved him he was laid back and gentle and sweet i thought we have found the pefect dog for our family! I was so surprised when my two yr old would pull on him and climb over and the dog wouldnt move. After a week of having the dog he turned on my 11 month old. He attacked him in his face putting 7 stitches in his eye lid among alot of superficial cuts and bruises. He is fine now but it tought us a very good lesson on dogs and kids.
I'm by no means telling you not to get your dog but just a little advice.
After talking to alot of people about what happened to my son I learned its best to buy a puppy to actually grow up with your children. And as the puppy grows older it needs to understand that you and your family are surperior to it. As for me and my family it will be awhile before we try to get another puppy maybe when they are teenagers.:) I hope my response is helpful to you and the best of luck to you and your puppy search.

Thanks for what youve said here kagniwood, i think people should definately realise you need to have a dog frm a pup to really know if you can trust them and even then it depends on how you bring them up.
Thanks for this very good point :)
