Should we use the paychecks from Congress to pay off the National deficit?

With the deficit at an all time high, shouldn't we all vote that Congress have to use their paychecks to pay it off? I mean after all, they are the reason we got into this mess. They live off the taxpayers anyway, just look at their travel expenses.

Now that they've taken the COLA away from the seniors, disabled, and veterans I'm waiting for the expected pay raise they'll be giving themselves. You know that's going to happen. They can afford the national deficit.

Yep, new budget year coming up. That raise would go a long way to paying off the national debt. Maybe they should just drag out their checkbooks and start writing checks to all the seniors in the country.
