Have you ever questioned your own faith/lack of it?

I have been studying philosophy and ethics for the past two years and have had a particular focus on the theistic views of philosophers such as Aquinas and their arguements. However, after recently having a discussion on the conscience and the views of that i find myself queestioning whether my western theistic views are actually correct. my question for you today is to those of you who are religious or, perhaps not religious. Have you ever thought that perhaps your beliefs werent right?

Man has his hand deep into all religions. If you really want the truth then you must question.

Hmmm. I think to believe in something that you can see, well, there would really be a lot of questions that linger in your mind. I am not really a religious person, but I believe in the most high. I don't have the traditional beliefs because I have been through that stage where I questioned a lot of what was taught to us in our faith. But now, I think I am more sure, more at ease with my own faith and belief.

Yes, it is not easy to believe in something with conviction unless one has studied everything there is to know about what he believes in. In the same way that it is difficult to dismiss something as unbelievable or false without giving it a serious thought and critical analysis. Merely accepting something that is handed down to us is nothing more than a leap in the dark. A belief or conviction about something becomes stronger and more established after passing through the gauntlet of two opposing views. Questioning our own faith or lack of it is essential in the development of our intellectual and spiritual maturity. Enjoy life my friend!
