hi.have you accompanied anyone to see a doctor?today i went to the hospital with a roommate who felt sick.after a series of examinations, the doctor said that nothing serious.but my roommate was a little suspicious.she insisted that her symptoms were serious at night and asked the doctor's permission to stay in hospital.but the doctor refused.i was tortured by them.i don't know whom to believe,my roommate or the doctor?also when we go to the the hospital, what we see ,what we hear and what we smell make us uncomfortable.so keep healthy and keep away the hospital.

Yes, I have done this a couple of times. I accompany a friend who has a sick baby. We have to directly go to the emergency room because the baby has a high fever and that he was crying out loud. It was already 10 in the evening and the baby who was only 2 years old then was admitted to be confined. The diagnosis that time was just high fever and since the baby cannot eat because of colds, he needs to be admitted. The baby was discharge on the fourth. he was now 10 years old.

Since the doctor said there is nothing wrong and refused admission to the hospital, I guess there's really nothing more that you can do. I think there are hospitals that doctors grant the patient's wishes for a fee of course, then maybe that's the best place to go for your friend's own peace of mind. Yes, I personally don't like to stay in a hospital unless it's extremely necessary, the smell alone makes me sick.
enjoy life!

Hi: I hope the same, you must trust what the doctor's says but sometimes you're worried too much that nothing can calm you down.

Actually, I have my older brother. He is in good shape. However, a year or two ago,he scheduled a routine physical. He was petrified about going to see the doctor. He said doctors always tell you something is wrong, and he did not feel comfortable going by himself. He found out he had high blood pressure, and was able to adjust his life style.

hello fairylife,
yes, i did. when my family is sick, i accompany them in going to the doctor. lately my wife was not feeling well. she felt dizzy and can't stand up. can't give her any medicine at all for i don't know what is the right medicine for her. so i told her to bring her to the doctor so she can take the right medicine. this way, she can be diagnosed why she felt that way.
the doctor found out that she was low blood and that nothing serious about it. only, she needs to eat the right kind of food, exercise and medicine as well. after a day or two, she felt much better and everything was back to normal. thank GOD.

I have accompanied every family member in my family who get sick and even I volunteer even myself to take care of them even in hospitals. As in my family i am the only one whom my parents could depend too as my oldest sister is already married, then I am the middle sister and my brother left to work overseas while my youngest sister studying in other places. So I am the only one left for their care as i have no choice. I accompany every family member starting from consultation, laboratory exam and even during hospitalization. I am the watcher and also the errand girl who buy all the medicines and assist on their needs as i also practices caring as part of my Health courses.

Uhm, I never did anything like that.. But I always go to the hospital for some reasons.. Indeed, being in the hospital makes you sick and uncomfy, you can't even do your usual routines once you're there. So yes, its best to keep your health with you, boost your immune system so that you won't be easily get sick.
Hope your friend is alright now.

Hi fairylife,i have once accompanied my friend to visit doctor. She was one of my close friends during the days of my post graduation. She was suffering from fever and had unusual symptoms of weakness and her parents were away as they had been to their native. My friend decided to get her self checked with doctor and wanted someone to accompany her.We went to a nearby hospital, few yards away from our college,we went in the morning and we were made to wait for about two hours after appointment. When we were seated in the hospital corridor i could see all the patients going in and out and those visuals made me feel sick and also the medicines smell made me feel uncomfortable so much that i did not have my lunch that afternoon.Later our turn came and my friend was called in,i went inside along with her,she was tested and also her blood pressure was checked, doctor prescribed her few medicines and said she will be allright in a week.Although i had to feel uncomfortable while being inside the hospital, but the fact that i accompanied my friend i believe is something humane and it gave me a true satisfaction for being there for someone when they needed the most.

in my experience, the one we should trust most is ourselves.i will never ever trust a doctor here in China.all they want is to make money as much as possible.i've been ripped off by them several times.moreover, individuals are different, the doctors only know generals.we ourselves control our health.
