Would you let your child ride his or her bike around town by themselves?

I am a stricked parent and I would not let my child ride around town with no supervision. There are alot of perverts out there and strangers that could pick up or kidnapp my child. I am not going to my child at risk no matter how much my child wants to go bike riding by himself. I am protective of my child and I love him. I don't know what I would do with out him. I also think about if he were on his bike and hurt himself. Noone would be around to take care of him if he fell off his bike. As a parent you really have to watch what your kid does. You have make the child understand if you say no it for a good reason not because we want to say no but because we love our child.

in the small town I live in I would let them ride around town within certain guidelines
they would have to stay within preset boundaries

I would never let my child ride their bike around town by themselves. It is just too dangerous to let them do that kind of thing these days. I hated to say no also but I would rather be safe than sorry.
