Hello friends and dear mylotters, It's grocery time, and i am too busy picking, selecting, reading labels when a small commotion attracts my attention. One store attendant is talking to a mom who's son was drinking a soda. The boy was so thirsty that can't hold it for another minute gulp a soda inside supermarket, but is not allowed. This reminds me when my second son was about 5 yrs old.He gone missing inside a supermarket and i was almost in panic looking for him,i was about to ask for some assistance when he appeared from somewhere holding a cheese and was biting it like a chocolate bar (ugh!!!). Did this ever happen to you my friend? Share your experiences and have a great day always

That is some kind of experience...It did not happened to me yet since my baby is still 1 year old. But evrytime I went on grocery shopping, my husband and my baby also go with me and that is our regular task every 15th and end day of the month... Thier was one time that we baught a cookies that my child really loves to eat but when we are already in the counter she saw it and want's to open it, my husband stop her so she was crying loud that "i think" cought everyone's attention... When the time the cookies have been punch already the cahser just let us open it coz my baby would not really stop crying and want's to get it though she is really full but she just love those cookies. Here is a tip if you go out for grocery, never go to grocery when you are hunger or thirsty, especially the kids. They could be tempted really if they are there and their stomach or tgheir throught really ask for it.

Hello friend, Yah,that is one thing we always did before entering grocery/supermarket. Since every or i should say ..almost every malls had fastfoods near the entrance,so,i let my kids have some snacks before starting our grocery time. That way,to avoid any food temptations too. Well, my kids were grown ups now so i don't have much troubled with them now. Thanks for your response my friend and have a great weekday...happy Monday

Hi dear friend, Well something like that hasn't really happened to me but I have seen people doing that. I had recently seena lady opening up a 2.5 litre pepsi bottle and drinking straight from it while picking other stuffs from racks. I mean wasn't she aware that she needs to pay first and then gulp it down. I have even seen some naughty children opening the wrappers of choclates and not waiting untill it is billed, but at times it is fun, isn't it? Sometimes I think it is fun to see people going overboard and not following the "rules".Hehehehehe.

Hello friend, Uh uh,for kids i guess it is really fun for them, but for adults like us . Well, yeah,i think that would fun too, especially if the store owner will approach us and we'll pretend like "ohhh,im sorry sir/mam,i don't know it is not allowed.." weiii (hehehe) Hmnn, will you try it then?...and let me know if it is really fun, the,i will do same thing(hahaha) I couldn't just imagine what will my kids will say about this...(funny,i guess) Thanks for your response my friend and have a great weekday...happy Monday

Nooo I won't try that, I would feel too embarrassed and may be name called as a "shoplifter". The storekeepers do approach sooner or later to reprimand those who just can't wait for those extra minutes. Great discussion,my friend!!

I work in a supermarket and we see this all of the time. What people don't realize is that young children don't understand the concept like we do as eat now and pay later so some think then that it is okay to do it when they are older and that is how some learn to shoplift. That is essentially what people are doing if they eat it before they pay for it, which many don't.

Hello carol, This is what i expected too, kids think it is fun,and would be a habitual behaviour too. Good thing if they will pay for it,and i guess some really don't pay after it is eaten. Thanks for your response my friend and have a great weekday..happy Monday

Hi, my friend, I use to work at Wal-Mart and I would see little kids nibbling on food, all of the time. Most of the Wal-Marts have a McDonalds fast food, inside so I wasn't surprised to find hamburger wrappers or soda cups. If it calms down the kid, then I would say go for it, but kids do make big messes, so sticky, slimy, gummy or oily food stuffs ends up in the basket, on the shelves, or on the floors and it's rare to find an Associate to clean up the mess. Probably the best thing to do is try to feed the kid(s) before entering the store or have someone watch them while getting the shopping done.

Hello friend, Yah,this is the reason i see why supermarkets and grocery stores won't allow kids to open or drink inside the premises. Making a mess would spoil some food, kids are very unpredictable, they can open some wrappers and will put back into shelves,in that case, the opened package will be spoiled then. And can just open drinks or soda, and then put back to fridge half contents. Ah,kids were too naughty sometimes...they think everything is fun,fun ,fun always. Thanks for your response my friend and have a great weekday..happy Monday

i think every parent experience this already. children who are thirsty or wanted to get a bite even it is not billed out yet. i too have experienced that but from the staff are not that strick as long as you are going to pay for it as you billed out. as long as you will not just open it and taste it then leave it there. i know they have eyes around the grocery acting like buyers too but just spying. my child is an oreo fan and he is three years old. and to keep him quiet for me to finish up my list is opening an oreo and let him munch

hello friend, yah,you are right dear, some store staff pretend as if they were one of the shoppers and spying costumers. Well, some mall supermarkets here in our country also allow kids to open food and had it eaten, but, staffs will instruct you to pay it and keep the receipt in case if other staffs will confront or ask. Thanks for your response dear, and i guess kids really can't resist oreo

may i ask who says its not allowed? lol? i have never seen any signs saying that you were not able to eat things in the grocery store. for as long as i can remember, we have always either gotten a drink, or opened a bag of chips or cookies, or what have you. i really don't see the harm in it, you are gonna pay for it anyways right? i guess you still get your occasional people that do not pay for the things they "sneak". going grocery shopping now with a child, if he is thirsty, or hungry, and we forgot the snacks or sippy cups, i get something. im not gonna let my child scream n shout because i forgot something. if im gonna buy it, i think i have all the more right to use it in the store.

That almost happened with my brother who is only 3 years old that time. Luckily I was able to notice what he was about to do. He was in front of the shelf of his favorite food that time and he may have thought it was fine to eat one. I think it is fine to do that as long as you get hold of the wrapper and pay for it. Maybe you can just tell the attendants around that you will be paying for whatever it is that the child ate. They should understand that because it's really hard to stop children from wanting stuff I mean I am sure they wouldn't want it too if the child starts throwing tantrums around the supermarket just because he or she didn't get what he wants. I dont know..just an opinion.. :D

Hello calai, Yah,kids think it is ok to eat or have something to eat or drink inside supermarket or grocery stores. I understand why some stores doesn't allow kids to eat inside the vicinity area,it can made mess,or even can spoiled some foods if kids were open or tore packages without permission or adult assistance. I just hope kids will behave next time (hehehe) Thanks for your response and have a great weekday ahead
