I make cards and i sell them to friends as well as family.I get my ideas from looking at how the cards are in the shops as well as i use a lot of 3d sheets that i put on my cards so that they stand out.Alot of people like the bright colours and then you have other people that go for the pastle colours.I find that the older person likes candals and robbin cards as well as they like to have the persons name on the card.

I tried using the 3d sheets but found them difficult to cut out but i have just forund out you can get precut ones to build up now much easier for me. How long have you been making cards for?

Hi There diddldonna
Well I have a friend who makes her own cards and most of them are lovely. She cuts around pictures and them sticks them to the cards but she doesn't always get a neat edge but I still like them. She also buys stickers and little bits and pieces to stick on them. I wish I had an eye for that sort of thing as I would like to make my own, I also lack patience which doesn't help either!

You do need a lot of patience with crafts and some times i lack that and need a good kick every so often.

I love to make cards and I just recently began selling them. I sometimes get ideas from looking at other cards, and then adapt them. Usually though I just tend to get an idea about something and then put it together. Sometimes, I get an idea, and try it out and spend an hour or two making it exactly how I want it. My cards don't usually contain a message inside or anything, I leave them blank for people to write their own message or note. Depending on whether it is a birthday card or a thank you card etc, I will put that on the front of the card, or sometimes there is no writing on the card at all. I also scrapbook, and I save all my extra paper that has been cut, and have found that I have made some pretty cute cards just using up some of the paper that many people would just throw away. I really try to use everything up to reduce the waste.
