I was watching the movie recently when suddenly a stinking smell sipped into my nose only to realised that it came from the guy sitting behind. He had took off his shoes and put his leg in between the seats. What a disgusting thing to do!! I just gave him my peace of mind before he changed place to another seat far behind.. That was among some unacceptable behaviour in a cinema that I had encountered other than talking loudly, ringing cell phone etc. What was your worst experience on these?

OMG!!! that is far less than i have ever had to encounter!!! I cant believe that man did that it is disgusting!!!! Id be completely annoyed and i would have given him a peice of my mind aswell!!!The worst one i encountered was on a trip to see transformers with my son and my brother, bearing in mind my son is only 4 and sat through the whole film without whining at all, There was a couple of middle aged women with 5 kids with them some as young as my son, the cinema wasnt full as it was a few weeks into the sceening and these women let their kids run up and down the rows as if they were in a softplay!, they disturbed every especially the family sitting next to us who kept getting sweets thrown at them, In the end i spoke out as loud as i could about how some parents have absolutly no consideration!!!!after numerous attempts to get the kids to be quiet and sit down the spoilt little brats just made more and bigger noise and they ended up having to chase them round the cinema! After this they were told to leave to the whole audiences relief!!!

When The Empire Strikes Back was just out and less then a month too, I went to see it and some JERK quoted a line during the show. I turned and informed him in a LOUD voice that "SOME people HAVEN'T seen this movie YET!"
The guy he was sitting with slugged him in the chest and the rest of the audience applauded me!
Needless to say, we were uninterrupted the rest of the movie.

I think my worst expierence at the movies was when the whole movies were packed and we were lucky to find a seat, but there was a whole bunch of teenagers (im also a teenager) were everywhere and they all had their cellphones on, and everytime there was a "scary part" in the movies they all decided to scream all at once as loud as they could. Luckily the mall cops and some actual cops came and evicted them from the movie. Some teens are just so immature.

My worst at a movie was quickly resolved. A friend and I went to a movie and as is my custom sat down in the first row. a family with two girls sat down behind us, the girls kept whining loudly that they couldn't see. I asked my friend if she minded switching places with them.
The switch was made just as the movie started and the girls settled down with only one word from their father which was. "Behave."
I guess I'm Lucky not to have had many problems at movies.

Thankfully the father actually was calm and just said one word, sometimes that is all it needs but the amount of time I see parents shouting at their children for no apparent reason. I saw one mother the other day who kept on to her child that they were not allowed any sweets then when they weren't even having a tantrum.

Ewww... This is one of my pet peeves when watching movies. What I normally did I would show my disgust to the person or raise my voice about the stinking feet!!!
I really hate those who are talking loudly as well and some more would not even stop talking. I wonder what they were doing in the movie theater if all they do are, talk!! Also, the cell phone thingy that is not turn into silence mode, but also when someone who is sitting in front of me is reading SMS, I hate it when he/she does not cover the phone so that others will not be dazzled by the light!! It is quite a distraction.
There was one time when I was watching a movie with wholeheartedly, a boy's head suddenly appeared in between the seats and said 'hello' and other words many times!! Grrr!! I just couldn't concentrate. He's playing 'pick-a-boo' and the parents didn't do a thing. They should have held the boy tightly not to disturb other people.

Sometimes we would think how parents think themselves. If they are not sensitive enough, then we understand why their parents were not too. Talking through cell phone or smsing also irritate people. Why? Because, if they they were busy enough to contact others during that time, they shouldnt be there in the first place... ;-) Happy mylotting

rj4pau well to me the most disgusting thing was two louts who sat behind me and my adult son. the one behind me talked loudly all through the movie and kept sticking his foot in the middle of the back of my seat. I would turn around and scowl at him, he would stop then when I turned back his knee was in the middle of the chair back pressing against my back. so I got up and found an usher who came over and made the two louts move to a different place. God bless the usher.

Quite frankly you couldn't drag me into a movie theater to watch a movie. Apparently it has gone out of fashion to teach your children manners and self-control and these little louts grow up into mannerless teenage louts and mannerless adult louts but I seem to have to deal with on an ongoing daily basis.
I usually wait till the movies come out on DVD so that I can watch some in the comfort of my home without a smelly noisy audience. If I want to watch the movie with someone I can pick and choose who to invite.

How totally gross! These people get all comfortable like they are in their living rooms. I just don't understand what they are thinking. I remember once dealing with people sitting behind us who just kept talking. My boyfriend just turned his head and looked at them. They then stopped. I just don't think alot of people were brought up with very good etiquette, that is my take on it.

What an absolutely obnoxious person! It's hard to imagine anyone being so uncouth and rude but the sad fact is, this type of behavior is far more common than it used to be. People think they should be able to do whatever they want in public without consequences no matter how it affects other people. It's a shame that people don't have more sense.
I've never encountered anything quite that blatantly stupid in a movie theater but the usual kicking the back of the seat, talking, cell phones ringing and then actually answering it and having a conversation, have all taken place in theaters I have been in. For those reasons, plus the fact that it's so expensive to go nowadays, pretty much keeps me out of the theaters. I love my Netflix and I enjoy my movies on my big screen HDTV and surround sound, pause button at my disposal, comfortable recliner and snacks at the ready. As a matter of fact, I'm kind of in the mood to watch a movie right now. Let me just slip off my shoes.... lol

In 2001, As part of The Princes Trust course we raised money to take a group of children from a children's home to the cinema to see Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. There were young kids as well as older kids and the older kids were really well behaved and really enjoyed the night but some of the younger kids were banging on the back of our seats during the film. It really got annoying.
Like you have mentioned about the phone, talking loudly etc, I have also experienced these annoyances on other occasions but it does not really bother me too much unless they are doing it throughout the whole film.

I'll only have to say: never enjoy a Cappuchino before the movie starts. It ruined a great movie I had been looking forward to for several years. I couldn't visit the toilet, because there were already 20-30 other needy movie lovers there waiting in line, so I had to go outside and finish my business next to the main entrance, with strangers giving me a not so friendly look.
Smelly feet sounds almost even worse, though.

that was really disgusting, i hates the bad smell of other's shoes really, if that happens to me, then i would find another seat where i could not smell his shoes.

That does sound really gross to hear that. I don't like it when people take off their shoes and their feet and socks really smell. Then to put it on a seat, man that does sound really disturbing. I'm glad that you got the man to move to a different seat without making a scene.

Hahaha! That is so yucky! I hate those people sitting behind you, bumping and hitting your back seat by their toes. That is really annoying. I remember moving at their back seat and kicking his seat also as revenge... He is so annoying, imagine I have told him to please stop doing it but he still continued. He deserves to feel how it feels...

That's nice that you told him off. People don't consider other people n just do that kind of stuff. It is really annoying. The only thing that has happened to me is people talking on the phone and dumb kids laughing and talking really loud.
