I work the night shift. I have for many years and I like it very much. I worked for many years on the day shift but could never get the rhythm down. I am much more rested and at ease sleeping all day and working all night. So what about the rest of you. Day shifters or night shifters? Or lucky enough to be retired?

I prefer to work during the day. I usually sleep at 9:30 pm and I'm up by 5:00 am. This sleeping pattern is something that my body is accustomed to. When I was a medical technologist intern before and I had a night shift, I find it difficult to sleep during the day.

I agree that it can be difficult to sleep during the day. You have to really get used to it. Black out curtains help a lot too :) Sometimes it can get noisy - can't very tell the neighbors to keep down the noise because I am sleeping. Sometimes though it's tempting to start mowing my lawn in the middle of the night :0
