I just made my kids some fruit smoothies for their evening snack. They are going crazy over them, so it makes me think I should make them more often. I did theirs with strawberries, banana, yogurt, milk, and a little bit of Strawberry Tangerine Tang powder. I don't want them to get bored with them though, so I was wondering how other people make their smoothies to change things up for them a bit. So, how do you make your smoothies? If you don't make them, but you drink them what do you like people to put in yours?

Hi lilybug! I sometimes use frozen yogurt that is chocolate flavored and do bananas and milk. I'll also use stawberries sometimes. The great thing about smoothies is you can put in anything you want and they'll be great.

I just made a wonderful smoothie with all the fruits I had. It{s Summer here, so I put some grapes, a peach, some apricots from my apricot tree and a banana. As it is very warm, I made it with water and ice and used fructose instead of sugar for dieting. It was awesome!

Well, most of the time when we make Smoothies we use Fresh fruit, and sometimes a little milk or something as well. I have never thought of trying mine with a little bit of yogurt in it. Might be good. Some of our Favorites are Strawberry and Pineapple, or mango, strawberry and pineapple. But we have found that you can mix just about any fresh fruit together including watermelon if you wish to make your smoothies and they turn out great as well.

I've seen people get very creative. A few authors who are also mothers have cookbooks about how to sneak in vegetables into the diet of their kids without them knowing. One of them put spinach in a fruit smoothie for her children and they loved it. They never knew. And the recipe was included in her book. One of the cookbook names was The Sneaky Chef. I wouldn't mind doing that for myself. I don't like spinach, but if I can mix it with fruit and not taste it...good idea!

Hi lilybug. Mmmmm, smoothies! My family and I love smoothies! I haven't made any in a while. The last few times I bought any I would get them at a little drive-in restaurant that my family and I have gone to. They are so good! My family and I would always get the strawberry, banana, and pineapple ones! Yum! Whenever I make them at home I keep it simple. Besides the fruit I use some ice and water. Mix it all together real good in a blender and I've got instant smoothies! I love drinking them on a hot summer day. It really cools a person off! Happy mylotting!
