I've got a very long list of places I'd like to go in Europe but the first place I want to go is Budapest. There's so much history and amazing attractions. I got a travel book on Budapest and it has the top 10 of the attractions, places to eat, hotels, etc and there's a pull out map so I'll know what I want to see before I get there.

My main memory from Budapest is that it's noisy. I've been there twice, one time only for a visit and one time for a conference. According to the Hungarians participating in the conference, the sound levels there are aboud 10 dB higher than in other European cities of the same size. It's due to a lot of things, old cars, old trams (safe but very noisy), lot of building going on, so they thought it would get better in the not so far future.

I know I want to see Germany. I have heard wonderful things about it. I don't know much about Finland or Norway. Why would you pick them?

Because we're the best! (speaking as a Norwegian *he he*)
Nature's great in both countries, but quite different. Norway's most famous for dramatic fjords, islands and mountains whereas Finland have seemingly endless forest, lots of lakes and warmer summers. If you want to see a pretty capital, Helsinki is much better than Oslo IMO. Never really liked Oslo. Lot of other nice places though :-)

I have visited most of the countries in Europe already. So far I haven't yet been to Iceland. I would love to go to Iceland for a summer trip. I know it is a very beautiful little island. I would go to the capital and use it as a base to visit the waterfalls. I have heard the interior is very picturesque.

I love Iceland! I've been there 3 times, one time for 5 weeks on a language course in Reykjavik. Didn't help much, I can't really talk it but I can read a bit :-) If you want to see the interior of the land you should go in late summer, early autumn as the roads to the "inside" usually get taken by floods every spring when the snow and ice on the glaciers start melting. The waterfalls are great, but I think the best part is all the areas with volcanic activity. There's Hekla of course (active volcano), but also lot of areas with wonderful colours due to the sulphur and boiling water coming out of the ground. And there's puffin, I love puffins. You can go on a puffin safari from the harbour in Reykjavik, they're so funny when they try to take off and end up diving instead.

Vienna! I studied there and go back there at least once a year, both because I have friends there and because I absolutely love it. The culture, music, weather, food, gardens, palaces, also the forests around Vienna, walking along the Danube, eating ice-cream while listening to street musicians (quite good ones, unlike here), looking for ducklings in the ponds in different parks. Love it, just love it :-)

Sounds awesome. Maybe someday I will have enough money to be able to check it out.

I have visited many places from Europe, but I'd always go back to Barcelona. Amazing city! Definitely a must-see!
