I can't help but feel a little bit disappointed with myLot!

So as we all know by now there was a myLot 'glitch' last week and some members are still reeling from the problems, not getting friends notifications of discussions started, not seeing their discussions posted etc. Yes I thank myLot for paying for me to have fun on this site but we, as members, make this site work. I submitted a discussion and thinking it hadn't posted I submitted it again and again, so it got posted 3 times little to my knowledge and I did contact the myLot staff who did sort the problem out for me, so I thank them for that too. I just would have appreciated myLot putting out a message to all members letting us know that they were experiencing some problems and to let us know that the problem was in hand. Even a week later and still nothing!
Do you think we should have been notified by myLot to let us know of the problems? What problems did you have during the 'glitch' and have these been rectified now?

That would be as nice thing to do....since they have our emails. It's like a couple of weeks ago when you couldn't even log on or once here you couldn't respond or start a discussion. I think it would save alot of confusion if they just let us know!

I agree with you. A word of warning wouldn't hurt such that members won't be at a loss in fear of what might have happened to the site, especially with several paying sites come and gone. It would have provided proper re-assurance to members that they are fixing the problem and that anytime soon things would return to normal.

Last weekend when things were not working properly I just responded and commented on earlier dicussions, both my own and those started by others.
MyLot fixed whatever problem there was as soon s they got back on Monday and all has been well since then. We know that they put things right as soon as they are aware that anything is wrong and we also know that they are not very comunicative about informing what the problem was. I gave up a long time ago thinking that they will ever inform us and when things are working I just don't think about it further.
I wonder if it was a mistake though and if anyone got a telling off

I think it would be nice too and I see your point. I too am Happy about myLot, where it was said should they e-mail us? There are alot of people on here and to e-mail them all even on a broad stants running quite a large site like this takes alot of workers and alot of work. I think we should all be thankful that this sight runs as well as it does. There are alot of little computer terms and 000111100 that take them alot of hard work.. So, like you said I THANK YOU myLOT FOR PAYING US TO HAVE F-U-N!!!

I tried to response some discussions at the time. After I pressed the respond button, the page just remained the same page, where no response blank was available. I am so glad that everything is Ok again on mylot now

Hi Humbug, I agree that some kind of explanation should have been given and things certainly haven't been right since as very few notifiers are actually working, I get an odd spate of a few together then they stop again. I wouldn't expect an individual answer but one alert as at least an apology could have been sent to all, as they do with new tasks.

I am not sure why but I read that there was a glitch going around
so thats probably it.
anyway I haven't tried responding to the same people
but I think it's taken care of now since at the time mylot was also slow and today it is not

I know what you mean and do understand. Sometimes, I get a little blurry when things go 'quiet' for a few days. But seemingly that I'm just on here for a few minutes right up to a few hours each time, I can come to a healthy back mylot. But those lost and quiet moments; I wish there could be some explanations too. However, I'm pretty immune to it by now..

I felt the same way. They could have posted an alert or sent out a mass e-mail or something. Communication from Admin is definitely something that could be improved on the site.
The first glitch where you couldn't reply to discussions at all was just annoying. I took it upon my self to post a discussion making fun of the situation. Come Monday it was fixed and I tried to hunt down all the "lost" discussions. Then last week I wasn't getting notifications, so I went back to my old rotten way of using tabs to locate discussion. I am getting notifications now, so far as I know it has been fixed.

Yes you are right I feel a little uderappreciated too but I guess I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they were too busy solving the problem and forgot to contact us.All we can do is hope that there wont be any more of such glitches to come and especially during a weekend. The thing is that weekend are a time when we get to make as many posts as we can .In the past though they have always left a message for times when the site was being worked on but maybe this was a financial decision ,I dont know but I will give them a break this time, second time I wont be as forgiving lol

Hi ya ronnyb
That is very generous of you hahaha. I don't have a problem with them having a 'glitch' as these happen and you have to be understanding of such things, what I don't understand is why they just didn't let us know and appologise for any inconvenience caused, which it did and still is to some members. Oh well, c'est le Vie hahaa
Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear all this disappointments from you. As far as I know , they
have already fix the posting of discussions, responses and comments. With regard to
notification, i think they are still on the process of fixing it. You are correct,
the admin should have notified us with this concern so we will not expect anything
or we can be able to handle the case if we know the concern. I also hope that
one the coming days, if mylot can't still fix the notification feature, they should
some alert or do notification to all the members.

Hi there rberon1985
Yes I believe most of us are back to normal but I just don't think it would have hurt them to have sent out an alert to everyone then maybe I wouldn't have attempted to post my discussions until the problem had been sorted!
Thanks

It definitely would be nice if the MyLot admin apologized or at least explained what happened. It seemed like they were really good at communicating with us (via alerts) about OTHER events, like adding new tabs and encouraing people to submit tasks and things like that. I agree that it would have been good for them to communicate a little more with us, with what was going on and when it would have been fixed. I didn't have any real problems with it,except that I was really motivated to start and respond to some discusssions..And I couldn't.

Yes I think as members of mylot, we have the right to know whether mylot is experiencing any technical problems. In that case, we will not be lost... I mean like what happened last time, some mylotters keep repeating their posted discussion for they didn't know that it was already posted. I think it is also fair that whenever we have posted something that violated the rules and guidelines of mylot, they should warn and inform us of what have we done wrong, so that we can avoid doing that again next time.

Hi ya lovelyn_medrano
I think for myLot to inform us if the discussion we have started has violated the guidelines and why would be a too big a job for them and they just wouldn't be able to do it what with so many many members on the other hand, I am sure it wouldn't have taken them long to send an alert!
Thanks

I don't know about the glitches and other technical problems, on "myLot.com", maybe that explains why my earnings haven't increased and I'm following the rules and responding, as if I'm writing a novel, with what I thought was good answers. It would be nice if "myLot.com" would notify people, also, why their earnings haven't increased. I've just joined this site, IDK, maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions, too quickly. I'll just have to be a little more patient.

Hi there TexasTee38 and welcome to myLot
To be honest you won't see a huge increase in your earnings just yet. You really do need to spend a lot of time on here, starting your own discussions, getting lots of friends and responding to a lot of others discussions will all help you to increase your earnings. Getting a referral and doing tasks will also help once you have found your feet around this site.
Thanks and happy myLotting

Well, due to the Notifications problems I have a couple of discussions that I have very few responses too, and that is quite unusual for me usually. But all I know is that I have found other ways to work around some of the many Glitches we see in here from time to time, and maybe that is what you will have to do as well. I am still getting responses here, maybe just as many sometimes as I would like.

Hi ya KrauseHome
I too was able to work around the glitch once I had figured out it wasn't something I had done wrong or a problem with my computer which is why it would have been nice to have been told there was a problem and I might not have tried to start the discussions I did that, like you, got little to no responses.
Thanks

It's annoying to experience such a glitch. Notifications of my friends discussions is a great way to reply. I was not around on mylot at that time so I cannot much tell how I would have experienced it. I am glad that this problem has been solved now.

Hi Humbug. Oh boy, that glitch was fun, wasn't it? So many new discussions went unanswered and if they did get responded to after the glitch was fixed it was at an all time low.
Like you, I submitted a discussion during this time frame. But after I posted it, it said that the discussion was deleted for violating the guidelines. Now, I know that can happen to discussions at any time, but to happen so quickly after I posted it made me rather suspicious. So I took a peek at the "discussions I started" page and my suspicions were confirmed. It had posted, after all.
I don't think admin knew of the problem until Monday. I've heard that they aren't even around on weekends so I can't see them being aware of any issues on the site during the time it was having problems. Though I could always be wrong.
I haven't posted any new discussions since, so I can't say if there are any problems with that, but I did notice that I haven't been getting as many notifications as I normally do. I do try to go through the "discussions my friends started" page to find any that may catch my eye, just in case I might not get their discussions in my inbox. As it is I don't get any from certain friends even though I turned the notification on for them and I've seen their new discussion directly on mylot. But I guess that is mylot for you. It is full of glitches, but I still love it anyway! LOL
Happy mylotting!

Hi ya sacmom
Oh I would expect mylot to have some glitches from time to time, surely a site can't run without them, it wouldn't seem right haha. I just wished they could have let us know. If I had got an alert when I logged on I wouldn't have started the discussions that I did that I got little response to or even none in one case! Another of my myLot friends has also suggested that myLot are not about at weekends and were probably faced with a mountain of emails on Monday morning so I can sympathise with them on that. Why didn't they just send out an alert saying that they were sorry for the glitch at the weekend but all was sorted now and if anyone is still having problems to contact them? I dunno, the life of myLot!
Thanks

hi humbug well I did not get a single notification at all today
and I usually get a ton of them. What is going on here? I have to come into the homepage to find the discussions now. Yes it would be nice of mylot to let us know just what the heck is going
on so we would not just sit and gnash our teeth.

Your right it would have been much less confusing for us if mylot would have notified us of the glich, because when I first noticed the problem I was really confused as to what was going, until I decided to messaged one of my good mylot friends and they informed me of the glich, I was also really releaved that it was nothing I did wrong, but I was a bit disappointed that I lost 2 good topics for nothing, and I agree we should have been informed or maybe we should have recived a 0.5 cent bonus or something, it would have helped if we could of at least been warned before we wasted our topic ideas.

I am a newcomer here and did spend time glancing over senior members' performance and their activities run into thousands of points which goes to show that Mylot is here to stay. These glitches are a part of any activity that we see on the Internet world and Mylot cannot afford to take things lying down. We could perhaps notify if we face any problems and give them time to set matters right.
