You know that smoking is bad for health. So far none could show a single benefit of smoking. Despite that you smoke. Since when you smoke? When will you stop smoking? Do you have any plan for that? (by the by, i am a smoker and i am planning for getting rid off; it will be soon!!)

i am 21 yrs old n have been smoking since 3 years.when I started i was very confident that i wont make it a habit, but slowly and steadily it gained control upon me and i succumbed to it.i used to smoke at least a packet a day. In the meanwhile i have tried quitting like a million times, nut now its been 25days since i smoked n m really glad for doing this, hopefully will continue this for a long time, forever. PS: you say you will quit smoking soon, but buddy if u don't convert that "soon" into "now" it is of no use, trust me.

You mentioned that no one has said a benefit of smoking. And although I was a smoker for years but have quit now. I still think it important to see all sides to the story. So below is a link to another mylot discussion where I posted the benefits to smoking: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/501118.aspx

The reason why a lot of people continue to smoke, despite the known dangers, is that it's an incredibly powerful addiction. I've been smoking for nearly 40 years and so far have remained healthy. Of course I know it's not good for me and I wish I'd never have started, but I've never, despite trying over and over and over again, managed to give up. Although they aren't so bad for some people, the withdrawal symptoms for me are impossible to bear, so I start smoking again. Also like somebody said above, once when I tried to quit I put on 28lbs in less than two weeks and I wasn't over-eating or compensation-eating either. Good luck with your own attempts to quit, and let's hope you're one of the people who finds it not too difficult.

Yes i know that smoking can be bad for your health. The only benefit of smoking for me is that it helps keep your nerves calm. I started when i was 13 years old and that was 40 years ago, and i will probabley be smoking 40 years from now.
