Which operating system do you prefer?

Its been bugging me ever since i see tons of arguments of which Microsoft operating system is the best. I'm sure the only competition is between Microsoft XP, Vista, and Windows 07. Odds are Windows 07 is the best, but hasn't been released officially with a service pack. Only a beta can be found. So right now its between vista and xp. What do you think is best? Thanks, i really appreciate your advice.

I prefer Linux.. as an operating system... About which windows will I choose - it is windows 7.. The only reason that I still use XP is that it have all type of 3rd party softwares available.. with perfect compatibility.... And windows provides gaming.. which no other OS successfully does ( support all games released - or all games are released for windows )...I love windows 7 for its stability and error freeness (much better than vista)..(and less resource thirsty compared to Vista.. - Should try the mac OS as well - leopard.. - So my choice is windows 7!

Linux is a fast operating system, but isn't compatible much. Most programs don't work on Linux, and most old games doesn't either. Linux is good, but no where near the Windows and Macintosh operating system. Linux is just a operating system, they don't have a major team behind them.

I haven't tried Windows 7 so far, so I am not able to write about it. I use Vista and gotta feeling, that XP was better. But I think each of them has some pros and cons - from my point of view it seems that XP was quicker and less demanding, but on the other hand I must admit, that Vista seems to be bit more stable.
Should I decide which one to choose nowadays, Windows 7 would probably be the winner (support for XP will be over very soon and thus it could be a bit dangerous to use it in the future)

As for I used to love Wins 07 but after getting my latest laptop installed with Vista. It was quite hard for me to adapt. But because my boyfriend has a Mac book and I've been using quite often, it seems like Vista and MAC are pretty much same use. the function came out by Vista I feel pretty much trying to compete with Mac. However, i guess is more of your adaptability, the more you force yourself to use it, then you get the hang of it. Now I am not used to Wins 07 anymore.
