i always think that the internet is the one of the things ever invented. I mean, everything now is within your reach. i get really fidgetty whenever there's no internet (although, i know i would survive without it).
another thing that makes me surf the internet besides looking for earning opportunities are the endless ways to learn. I would like to study again, preferably graduate studies, but i can't afford it.
do you take advantage of the freebies the internet or other website offers? there are also lot of sites which offers free courses. do you study online?

Like just about everybody here I have several different ways that I make money online but other than spending time updating and maintaining my websites, blogs and writing, I probably spend most of my free time online checking the news sites. I like to check different sites from around the world to get another perspective on things too. There are also a few blogs that I check on now and then and of course I email friends and family. Occasionally, I like to us my "stumble" button and visit a few random sites. Once in a while I find something really interesting that I might bookmark. As you can imagine, I have quite a large list of bookmarks, so I also go through the list once in a while and revisit sites that I haven't been to in a while.
You mentioned there are places that offer free courses online. I would be interested in checking that out. If you or anyone has any links to free online college type courses, please post them here so I can have a look. Thanks.

I enjoy using the internet for mylotting but also for looking up crochet patterns, or wii games or something like that. I also chat with my husband (though he's in the same room as I) and our friend. We look at MTG and Yugioh things as well. I hope to take online courses for medical transcription and medical secretary soon though we are saving up money for other things as well.

I've been impatient with crochet myself, I've made my mom a bag before, but I think I either made more rows or less rows then the pattern called for. As for the medical transcription course and a client, thank you. I want to see if I can get hooked up with a company online after I'm done with the course. I'm also going to be an in home aid as soon as the company I went through calls me back... so maybe I could do both as the person I'll be sitting with will be my great grandmother in law...

I try my best to get that free time to look for poem sites and read people's writings. I am fascinated with poetry in all forms and I think it's a special coded writing, in my own words there. It's emotions meshed together and we can just release our tension through poetry. So, if not on mylot or writing sites and etc, I'm looking out for latest poetry to read and get inspired to write some too.

I agree with you about the internet. I always tell people that the internet is like having the world's encyclopedia at your fingertips. I have never failed to find what I was looking for on the internet.
As far as studying on the internet that is about forty percent of my time spent online. You can always find free information on whatever topic you need to learn. I consider myself an intermediate level experience with computers and I have been self taught.
I took computers in high school and started in college with a couple semesters but changed to auto mechanics. Back then windows wasn't even heard of. The main computer language was basic and you had to write a program for everything you wanted to do. Of course their were a few software items on the market but they are useless compared to the software we have today.
I got my first real home computer with windows in the eighty's and I stayed on it until I fell asleep every day for a few months until I got the basics. I had a couple of books "windows for dummies" and I went through them just as if I was studying at school except I taught myself with them. Now I learn through online articles, blogs, websites, free videos and magazines; both online and printed material that you can get for free.
If you did have the extra time I would recommend taking a class in the area that interests you most I just can't do so myself at this time in my life or I would.

that's what im trying to do now, since i cant affort conventional classroom-based education, yet! haha! :)
its fun in the internet because most of it is free and broad. some are even comprehensive that classroom-based education are not teaching it. modules are downloadable (sometimes free). i like it because most of the courses are simple and easy to understand. Thanks for posting!

well, i take advantage of free courses and course materials available online. there's this site that also gives certificate, its free by the way... gcflearnfree.org.
others like learnthat.com, open.ac.uk, openlearningworld.com and about.com, have free courseware. they don't give certificates though but they're definitely a lot of help.
You can also try e-learningcenter.com.

The internet is a good place for learning new things. I learned graphic designing from free tutorials. There are some universities that offer free online courses. We only need to download the materials to study.

I have trying to learn Japanese language online, which kind of hard.In the end,i only use the online tutorial as my source of reference.I believe that we can find many online reference such as e-book by using search engine. Beside search engine, mylot and yahoo answer become an alternative for me when i am trying to find information. There are also many dictionaries and translator in internet which i found it to be very useful for my study.

Besides chatting, surfing and playing online games, I study a lot from the Internet. There are plenty of study materials and tutorials available in the web for my learnig. I have studied a lot of basics of many softwares fromthe net which I always wished to learn in my life. Not only that, whenever I need some help of any kind of softwares, I try to get help from the web. If no tutor is available it is best to get informed and learn from Internet.

Making money is like the only thing I have been doing lately. But other things I may do are go watch videos on youtube or just spend time talking to people on facebook and AIM. I am on the computer allmost all day and I still can't explain what I did on it all day because I do so much. I would have to say that 70 percent of the time I am on the computer I am trying to make money in some sort of way, but I usually fail.

Occasionally I'll surf..But I never have much fun doing that. What I usually do is just go on Facebook or Myspace or even AIM chat to talk to my friends if I am too bored with my earning sites. I split my time up between social networking and sites like MyLot. And that seems to work pretty well for me!

I do research on many things which are of interest to me. Whatever I need to know, I try to find it on the net.
Internet is our source of communication too (my sisters abroad and me).

I read the news, of course.
Then do some emails and facebooks.
Then do some general browsings.
