Gmail vs. others?

Hello everyone!
I was wondering what you all think about Gmail as compared to anyone else, such as Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.? I have had what seems like an email account with just about everyone under the sun, but Gmail is the most appealing to me so far. Are there any other email services, besides "the big ones" that everyone has heard of, that any of you think actually to a better job than the competition?

I am pretty happy with Lycos. It's pretty smooth and fine. I like Gmail, no doubt. But somehow it keeps getting stuck all the time. And, the faster I type, the cursor doesn't seem to move with the speed. I don't know why. I am not sure if Gmail requires a bigger RAM and if it needs a higher resolution or something....
But I am happy to chat on Yahoo messenger and not on Gtalk. Even that gives me a lot of problems and even many friends of mine have faced this problem. So I either use Skype or YM. But I don't use Gtalk much. Keeps getting stuck and can never type fast.
The only advantage with Gmail is it allows you greater storage, and also you send large attachments, which is easy, and also you can just stay logged in, and it automatically refreshes updates.
