How long does a baby shower usually last?

I am hosting a baby shower in a little over a month and was wondering how long it should last. Two hours? Three hours? Do you put the start and end time on the invitations that are sent out or do you just put a start time and let the party end when it ends? Help! Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

i usually do that in one hour, but i do baby shower routinely, do not use hard soap to baby because this kind of soap can make irritation in baby eyes, you should use warm water to do baby shower.

I appreciate your response, but that's not the type of shower I was referring to. I was talking about the party that is held for the mother-to-be prior to the baby being born - the baby shower.
