There's a couple of ways to pay for college: The parents start saving a small amount of money from the time the child is born. By the time the child is ready for college they have accumulated a handsome sum. They can make sure their child studies very hard and gets good grades in highschool. Then the child can apply for scholarships to pay for college. They can let the child pay for college themselves by working part time and during the summer. I personally think this is the best. I think a lot of kids go to college because they don't know what they want to do with their lives. And many drop out because it was too hard. If they have to pay for it themselves they might reconsider their future plans and may decide that college isn't for them or that they want to learn a trade instead. A family and/or the student can also apply for student loans, either with the government, if offered in your country, or with banks. I don't like this option because once you're finished with college you'll have a huge debt to pay back and that can be crippling. All the best.
