There is a truth that everyone on this earth will get old. For most people, expecially for the old, when they stay alone for a moment, they may be worried about their age. Yes, as time flies, they are getting old and everything will be away from them sooner or later. Getting old it a fact of live and there are no people who can avoid it and get younger. Sometimes, when I be aware of the problem, then I will work hard in case I am getting old and have no ability to do any jobs. One of my friends tell me that growing old doesn't mean that we have to act old. What is your opinion about that? How to stay young while growing old?

I think the key is not to dwell on it. I am 53 and that's pretty darn old but I don't really think about it. I don't care about that. I just get up every day and do what I have to do and enjoy my life. I exercise and do all the things that I did when I was younger except be married. I'm ok with being older. I don't really feel old. its all ok.

...Hi sid, You are a youngster, we don't learn what is going on until we are about 25 years old. So stop beating yourself up at 53. There is so much more space for you to cover. Get on with the exploration. You are in no way old. Take it easy. It is all okay. Looks like you have the right recipe.

I think the right mind-set is important. Your friend is right about not acting old. One must always be optimistic, always willing to look at the bright side of things and appreciate the simple joys in life -- our loved ones, our family and, well, the sunrise and the sunset. In other words, just try to be happy always. Cheers!

There is nothing I can do with how I look as I grow old. All I have to do is accept it gracefully. Or I can do the following: Physically, I have to love my body better. This is by avoiding all the vices such as smoking, eating fatty foods and indulging to sweets. I probably engage myself to exercise and be physically fit. If your fit and living a healthy life, it slows aging. Emotionally, I should have a positive outlook in life. Depression gives you a frawn face, frawn face give you wrinkles, wrinkles makes you look old... so thus I therefore conclude that I should smile alot. And smiling gives a good aura, has a huge posiblity to have many friends. And people loves to hang around with people who are fun to be with. Spiritually, if you have a quiet time with yourself and with your God you'll be able to appreciate your blessings. And to be greatful with you blessings, makes you happy and contented in life. If you're happy and contented in life, insecurities of your age just fades away...

...Hi getbrowser, We are indeed all getting older. That's a fact of life. But what matters most in my opinion, is what your perspective is towards aging. If you think that you should just it back and not do anything or be involved in anything because you are a certain age. Then you will just whiter away and become very much a recluse. I think everyone who is breathing, no matter what age, should stay involved, in what is going on around them. Most of all, I do feel you should stay curious, try to learn something new, each and every day. There is so much that we don't know about the world. Just today, I read that the Europeans have discovered 32 new planets outside our solar system. So each day, I look around to see what's going on in my world. I do try to be as positive as possible, within the realm of reality, and move forward. Life is short, so we should make the most of it, and live life as if today, as they say, is the last day we will be around. Age should not be the problem, attitude is most important. Take care.

Hi Getbrowser. I think the way to stay young is to stay young at heart. Don't think of what is wrong with growing old think of what you can do to improve your life as you grow older. Don't sit and wonder what you can do make your mind up that you won't let anything keep you from doing what is right and Good and stay in the faith of God!

I agree we age slowy it is law of nature, we were born one day and will die one day too, but getting worried for it does not look good, when a person sits idle negetive thoughts do come, all that is needed is keep our mind and body busy, pray god and be happy... Thanks for sharing. Welcome always. Cheers. Professor

Just eat healthy and dont expect anything from others. One wise man said that sorrows and depression contributes 50% towards growing old and our expectations from other hurts us most, they bring sorrows and depression to us in 90% cases. Eat healthy and dont expect anything from others, you will never grow in age but never be old aged.

getbrowser well first stay healthy, eat properly, keep your weight at a healthy place, keep your mind active, and believe you will be young at heart no matter how old you are.I am 83 and feel like sixty three or younger.I' have hobbies, and passions like those of much younger people. I keep my mind sharp by using it to do puzzles, 'to learn new things, to write daily and read a lot, to be sociable with other people, well just the same sort of things I did 'at thirty and forty and fifty.

It is all in the mind. If you feel and think young and youthful then you will remain such. But if you quit taking care of yourself and let age catch up to you emotionally, physically and spiritually then you will be old. It is a choice. We can either think youthful thoughts and stay focuses on that which is young or we can go the other way. A choice.

I can't agree more with your friends's opinion that growing old doesn't mean that we have to act old. First ,keep the physical heath by doing some exercises. Second, keep yourself energetic by having good mood and passions. Third, learn the freshment from life.Keep on trying new items.

Growing old is something we all have to face.I find that keeping fit eating well and seeing friends.I don't go clubbing like some do,I cannot afford a sports car.So keeping up to date with music is a bit of a problem as it gives me a headache.I just take up easy more gentile persuits other wise you can end up looking a right fool.Keep your self nice ,eat the right foods, look after your health and keep busy as you can manage. They say age is a state of mind, some people sound old and look old before their time.I don't intend being like that.Young at heart is a lovely way to be.

Many researches have been going on about this topic, but nobody has really found out a way to be young. I think we need to accept the truth that years are goin by and we will become old one day. I believe we can keep ourselves young by maintaining the mind of a kid. Now, there are lots of beauty parlors where we have measures to physically reduce our age, but the truth is always there.

Every human being born is set to grow old in his own time. There are a lot of ways a person can grow old. Literally speaking, a person grows old when his/her age is increasing. Every year a person grows old. Nobody can avoid that fact. However, growing older is not a hindrance to stay young. Age is just the number that being counted the moment you were born but the heart can stay young if the person knows how to handle things right. If he / she knows how to trust God with all his / her heart. Aside from that, a person can maintain a young at heart attitude if he /she eats the right kind of food. It is scientifically proven that food plays a vital role in a person's attitude. Not to mention, we should smile very often, because there is a saying goes, it will only take a few muscle to smile. In addition, we must avoid the pressure though sometimes you just cant turn your back away from it. We should try to live our life to the fullest so we will not have our regrets. Life is too short, so maybe we should not dwell and be worried on our age rather to concentrate more on what we can do for today.

Hey get browser, first I'd like to ask what, in your opinion is old? When we are young, fifty seems very old, nowadays, it's considered middle age. In Australia, we have just had games for older people. One woman competing was 100 years old. Others in the 55-60 bracket were only seconds behind world record times, so my conception of old has changed. I will be seventy next year, but I'm still active in body and mind, and young at heart. So am I old? I don't think so.

Hi getbrowser, I've often heard that living old is better than the alternative, which would be to die young. There are people who worry about their age and those who don't and I find that those who don't worry seem to stay young longer. If we live long enough we will all be old but if we can smile through it all, people will enjoy our company at any age. Blessings.

Hey getbrowser! Growing old is definitely a depressing feeling! I am getting old and I can tell you that it is miserable! They say that age is just a number, but when the number starts getting up there it starts to make you think twice! I try to think young, but sometimes my body doesn't want to agree!lol I can't do all the things that I used to do and certainly not at the speed or agility that I used to do them and that frustrates me a whole lot! You have to just try to do the best you can with what you have and try to just keep on going! The alternative is just not an alternative! I don't want to die, I want to live because I still have lots more living to do!
