How many times have you got beatings from your parents when you were a kid?

from my dad every other day cause he like to hit me an my sister he would get drunk an which ever one of us was the closes got it now i only got one from my mom she caught me skipping school I also learnif you are going to skip school don't go where your mom gose lol

i was often beaten up by my mother because she's the one always at home. and from my father not so often only when his really mad. i was beaten for the household chores i always been the her side kick and i feel tired of it because i have 2 elder,a brother and a sister but i always been the one who take care of the works, and i often get scolded. that even now it stuck in my head how my mother treated me.. they don't treat their children fair it's unfair to think that we can have a division of labor inside the house but then among the siblings i was left alone to take charge of the household chores while others is doing their individual activities. it's really unfair.

If my parents had beaten my sister or I when we were children, they would have been arrested for child abuse. I don't know what country you're writing from, but in Canada and in the USA, such things are against the law.

well.. i can t remember the actual number.. but i got more than one beating from my parents when i was a kid... first it was really scaary thing for me.. but when i grow up i didnt give a thing about it.. when i get beaten up i wasnt scared any more.. which made them think twice before beating me.. and eventually they stopped..

Hi cute rose! I've experienced so many beatings from my childhood until around 16 years old. Most of them came from my father but my mother also got a share for a few times. Sometimes it is because of my hard headedness or if I broken something but usually it is because my father is very easy to be irritated and got a light head that is why I always got beating from him. All of us siblings have experienced of being beaten by him. Sometimes it is fault of only on of us but all of us will be punished. Those were the days that I really hate my father but they say times heal all wounds and it does. Now I do not have any ill felings with him and as much as possible, I do not want to look back on those darkest day of my life.

You are lucky enough to only get beating one time whilst I actually can't sum up an exact number of my got beatings. I always wonder if it's a Chinese trait of using beatings as one of the educational forms. A traditional proverb goes "Man who descends from a poor family will make achievements and Man who gets beatings will be a submissive and obedient child in the future". I accept it with some discount. However, things have changed a lot these years, people try another more useful and effective ways to teach children. As for the reasons of the beating, quite a lot, for example, if I did't pass the examination, even my rank in the examination is lower than the last time, I would get beatings, for my mother thought I became slack, it's her obligation to propel me ahead. That's really a bitter memory.

I was never beaten by my parents...I only get verbal punishments, and it was actually enough for me to be scared and have some respect for my parents.

My parents have beaten me a lot of times when I was a kid. I am the eldest of three kids. My sister and brother didn't even get 10 percent of the beatings I got from parents. My Dad used to beat me a lot comapred to my mother. My Dad thought that beating is a right way to treat a kid and make him humble and obedient. Later, he understood the truth that beating is not the right way to punish a child. So, my sister and brother didn't affect much from beating.

I remeber being beaten on every alternate day when I was around 6 years old.Things became better though after I turned 15.But now after 21 again I have started to get beatings from my parents not physically though but verbally.

a few times,but i guess the first time was i didn't want to cut my hair,at that time,my hair looked like a pile of straw, my mon was so angry,she beated me with a stick,i cried and hated her,after a few days,we were good again!

Wow I never knew so many parents abuse their children.I have used spanking as a method of discipline because that is the way I was raised but I don't think it was abuse or a so called beating.

SPANKED SEVERELY TWICE, ONCE BY MY FATHER AND ONCE BY MY MOTHER! My parents didn´t spank very often, and not, when we were small children - they used it mainly, when we misbehaved after the age of 10! There are two punishments, that I will remember the rest of my life! The first happened, when I was 12 and in 6th grade at school! I had been called to the headmasters office for being rude to a teacher, and he gave me a serious scolding. I got angry and shouted to him: Shut up, you old idiot!! That was a very serious offence, but instead of caning me, he told my father, who was teacher at the same school, what had happened - and he did it in front of all the teachers in the teachers room during an interval!! I came to regret my behaviour - when we came home later the same day, he called my mother and my two older brothers to the living room, ordered me to take off my trousers and underpants, and sat down on a sofa with a large towel over his knees! I was then placed with my naked bottom upwards right over his knees, and he gave me around 40 very hard strokes with his open hand with the whole family watching! My buttocks were very red, very sore and very warm afterwards, and it turned out, that he had been wise to protect himself with the towel, as I urinated several times during this enourmous spanking - the marks could be seen and felt for a couple of weeks! The second happened, when I was 14½ and was alone at home with my mother. I didn´t want to do my many chores, so we got into an argument - one word took the other, and in the end I shouted some awful things to her!! She gave me a very well-deserved slap on the side of my head, but I was very angry and slapped her back - that was a huge mistake! Although I was nearly as tall as her, she managed to fetch a solid wooden coathanger, grab my arm, bend me over a table, and pull down my shorts and underpants! She then gave me an enourmous thrashing with the coathanger - around 50 violent strokes in my naked behind!! For the second time in my life, I urinated during a punishment, and the marks could be seen and felt for 5-6 weeks! This gave me great problems at school, when the other boys in 9th grade saw it - I had to take my showers after the PE lessons, so I couldn´t avoid, that they saw my very colourfull bottom! Before long, as was the case with the severe spanking after my misbehaviour at school 2½ years earlier, the whole school knew, wht had happened, which was very embarrassing for a teenage boy!
