HP compaq and HP

I was found a laptop brands that was named "hp compaq" and "hp" . I think they are from HP production. Or just like sony ericksson ?Are they same? Please tell me the difference? Thanks

hp compact and hp are manufacturing their product separately but they are just one! same to sony and sony ericsson.

I think it too but what its features is same or not. Sony ericksson in cell phone but sony in many electronic product and in their cell phone never gived name only "sony". Then HP and HP compaq is same on laptop brands. Thanks for your response
