I love the beach! I am a complete beach lover! If I could just go to the beach every week, then that's what i would do. However, the latest typhoon we had (Ketsana) has kept me from going to the beach since most people and places are still recuperating from it. And of course, the typhoon Parma too! I like to go to beaches that are not overrated and not tourist infested. I am in the Philippines, so i would like to suggest to you nice beaches that you can go to here. Here are some to name a few:
• Boracay - of course. It is tourist infested but it still is perfect
• Puerto Galera - tourist infested but I'm loving the street-fashion-beach-bum feel of the place
• Bagac Bay, Bataan - really really nice beach. friendly locals too
• Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte - though this was badly damaged by Parma, I'm still looking forward to my trip there.
• Siargao - oh, Mindanao :)
• La Union - just the perfect waves for surfing
• Anawangin Cove, Zambales - who wouldnt love pine trees by the beach?
• Nagsasa Cove, Zambales - no pine trees, but breathtaking still.
• Dakak - commercial, but worth it.
• Palawan Beaches - the bomb!
• Sariaya, Quezon - not perfect, but worth it!
I you know any more beaches, please do share it with me :) I'm planning on goping back to Bagac, Bataan this November, so if you wanna come with, let's make the arrangements! :)

thats a great list you have there. I love the beach too and I can't imagine living somewhere that I can't access it. I live in the Maldives right now and I been traveling a lot too. But every beaches that I been is nothing more than the Maldives really... so for me, the Maldives is unbeatable so far.

Maldives has its up and down though. Accessibility to maldives in terms of flights are limited to very few airlines this means the cost of coming in the country is higher than any regional hub. The cost of living here is very high as most of the things that they use is imported, the only thing locally produced is tuna and coconut, other than that everything is shipped in the country from Australia, Dubai, Europe, Asia, India and Sri Lanka. The resorts are a stand along island which has very high maintenance due to production of own electricity and water supply through disallination. The resorts range from 3 star to luxury resort that you can imagine. rates are normally between 300 - 20,000 USD per night, depending on where you stay. And depends on what you want to do. There are also club med that offers all inclusive for a cheaper package. And transport is an expense with in the maldives too, coz to travel from airport to the resort is either on speedboat or seaplane which will incure more cost. But in case you want to come let me know, I'd be happy to help.

Hi there Macleto!
I also love beaches. But I must admit that living near one, it made me kind of take it for granted unlike when I was living in the city that I would always jump on every outing planned. I would recommend that you visit the beaches of Jawili, Tangalan, Aklan. You can visit it if you're going or coming from Boracay. It's more quiet so it's a breather if you just came from Boracay where the night life is really active. My uncle owns a beach resort there called Wassenaar Beach Resort.

Really? well, that is a fine dream you got there. Some beach properties here are so cheap. All you need to do is just clean and maintain it. Especially in Bataan, since not many people know the beaches there, those beach properties are still locally owned though you really need to take time on cleaning the seaside because most people who own them do not know their value.

Hi, I am also from the Philippines. And have been to Boracay and Dakak. But I think you missed out some wonderful beaches here in Cebu that could easily rival Boracay. I would love to go back to Bantayan Island, Camotes and Pandanon. Those are islands here in Cebu that are definitely worth visiting.
Let me know if you need information about resorts and beaches here, maybe I can help you out finding ones that are reasonably cheap. A trip to beach is definitely a welcome respite.

Hi macleto!
I love the beach! Hhhmmm... sounds understated. Okay, I LOVE THE BEACH SO MUCH! That sounds better.
I practically grew up in places close to the beach. It's a place I cannot live without going to. Even if my family and I have lived in the city for the longest time, we make sure that we always go home to the province. And when we do, I make sure that I will stay on hours end on the beach!

Hi macleto! I love the beach as well! I just can't resist it!!! That's probably why my skin stays tan even though I don't go out often because I usually hit the beach at least once a month and I prefer swimming during day time coz I don't like night swimming :) I just love splashing in cool clear beach waters!!! :) I'm from the Philippines too, in Cebu. You should try one of Cebu's white sand beaches! I'm sure you'll gonna love it! ;) Also, Bohol! I also would like to suggest Camotes. It's part of Cebu. It's an island actually in the north part of Cebu. You'll gonna love it!!! White sand, clear waters!!! And not that pricey too! ;)

I've been to a few beaches but probably none like the ones you've been to. I love the beach and unfortunately I live about 6-7 hours away so I only get to go once a year on vacation. I would love to live closer though. I would just love to build a little shack right on the sand and live forever if I could. The water at the beaches I go to isn't very light blue. You can't see in the water. One of the beaches I enjoy is Dewey Beach, Maryland but its probably not that interesting like the beaches you speak of.

Hi Macleto,
I am not a beach lover and so far, I only been to beach twice in my whole life.
At my place here, there is no beach at all.
The first time I went to beach was when I was a kid, I went to Pantai Cermin, one of the beach at my hometown,I went there with my family. The beach are full of white sands and I just feel comfortable to walk at the beach as my legs are getting dirty with the sands.
The second time I went to beach was during my dating time. I went to "East Coast" beach in Singapore. We rent a charlet to celebrate my birthday and night time, we walked down to the beach with my boyfriend.Such a sweet memories.
I am not sure whether I will go beach again in future...yes,Maybe if I do visit Sentosa Singapore next time. The siloso beach is great.

I also love beaches. There are so many cool beaches here in Indonesia. Here are few I recommend:
1. Pangandara in Jogjakarta: great expanse of white beaches, huge waves, and wonderful scenery is the beach's offerings.
2. Siung Beach in Wonosari: small, rather remote, but beautiful nonetheless with white sand and shallow coral formations and clear and lush sea water.
3. Drini Beach in Wonosari: close by to Drini, Siung is larger and have more expansive white sand, a huge rock you can climb up on, and several beautiful rock formations. Cool for some photo ops :)
