I want to learn Spanish. But my problem is that I can't join the coaching classes. Even the online courses as I don't have money for that. So please can anyone suggest me free online resources to learn Spanish? And also give your suggestion to help me to learn the language?

There are a few good free online Spanish sites available – the BBC Spanish site and 123TeachMe Spanish. These sites are great for helping with pronunciation as they both have audio clips so you can read and listen to the Spanish.
Hearing Spanish being spoken is vital. Listening to Spanish language music and watching Spanish language films is a good way to train your ear to the sounds of Spanish. Look on the internet (youtube etc) for Spanish music, find some you like the sound of, then go out and buy the CD. There are some famous artists who make albums both in English and Spanish – Shakira, Nelly Furtado etc.
There are a huge amount of great Spanish movies, both from Spain and Latin America. Watching these is both a good way to learn and a good way to rate your progress – especially when you no longer need subtitles in English.

Thank you chontawood, I have joined BBC's language course. It's really a nice course and free also. Every week I am getting free material from them. And 123TeachMe is again a good site. I found it very helpful. Thank you for providing such useful information.

I did a level 1 course in Spanish. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Then the level 1A course didn't take place so I wasn't able to continue formal lessons. So I now study from books and disks. I know that the BBC has an excellent free Spanish course on-line. If you try it I guess that you might really like it. A Spanish dictionary is cheap and you could borrow a foreign language pack from your local library. Learning for one hour a day would help you I think. Good luck.

I think the best way to learn a different language its by having people near you that know the language help you by speaking it to you daily. That is how I learned english and also by watching alot of television. I know spanish and its not that hard of a language some words are the same in english as in spanish. For example, hospital is the same in spanish as in english, also th8ings like ambulance dont change much in spanish its ambulancia so its pretty similar I know that with practice you will learn spanish very quickly.
