Before you take up a job and earn for yourself, do you get pocket money? with whom do you ask? your mom or dad?

I don't have a parent to ask anymore. Once in a while my Aunt whom treated me like her kid despite not having any of her own will give me some money to help out with the groceries when things are tough. But I don't ask, I don't expect, she just does when she knows I really could use it.

:)
When my mom was here during her last 15yrs or so I was more her mom than the other way around. My mom just passed in Sept & my dad when I was 4. The more I think about it I feel kind of alone w/o her even if I have my own family now to tend to. I am thankful to have my Aunt still her & my Grandmother treated me like I was their kid too as I spent alot of time with them growing up.

Hi snugglebunnies
It is sad to know that you do not have parents. parents' love and affection are very important to a child which has no substitute in this world. That is why God gave you a motherly natured aunt who treats you more than her kid. You are lucky to have her as your Aunt. Thanks for responding dear.

Though my school was near my house and had a walkable distance, I had to go to Hindi classes to write some separate Hindi exams conducted by a Government organisation for extra qualification. This I had to go in a city bus. I needed money for buying books and pay my fees also. Hence my father was giving me money for the expenses.

Yes, in olden days, only fathers used to go for work and mothers used to stay at home looking after the house hold work and children. So what ever expenses are there, it will be looked after by the dads, including giving pocket money to the children

Oh! So you are the darling of your parents and that is why you are getting your pocket money from both your parents. Is there any special reason to ask your Dad when you need money. Is your mom very strict and that is why you are afraid of asking her?

My parents give me money until I finished my study. If I need something I just asked them to buy it for me lol. Now I have a job and I pay thing on my own, but somehow I miss the time asking things from them...

Whether you earn for your own, still your parents treats you like a kid only because they are our parents. for any parents, their child, irrespective of his age and status, is still a small child for them only. If you feel that you miss the time asking things from them, you can rejuvenate again, by asking them small small things to make yourself satisfied.

Oh! you are mama's pet daughter and your grandparent's pet grand daughter. I used to get it from my father before and now from my husband and children. i won't ask. Just they give me immediately after they get their salaries and that is more than what I need actually and the remaining amount I will deposit in the bank
