Recently my girlfriend lost her job. Probably about two weeks ago. Ever since then she hasn't left the house to even try to find another job. Meanwhile I have had a full-time job and she hasn't been able to keep a job since she moved in with me. Her jobs have been on and off every month or two for about a year. She always has to have me with her when she does anything. Lately she has been sleeping til like 3 in the afternoon. We made plans last night to go on my motorcycle and take picture in some local parks. So I made plans around this. This happens all the time what should I do?

I think you should spend more time with her. I can see she's depressed. Please understand her and try to increase her self-confidence. Depression can be very dangerous if not treated early. Always let her know you're always there for her.

I am there for her all the time. I don't even hang out with my guy friends anymore its just me and her all the time. And not to sound rude but I really think she doesn't want a job. She would rather sit at home all day and watch movies thats just how she is. I'm just stressed out I guess its just really bugging me.

I agree - it does sound like depression. My husband and I are both out of work and not that we're too depressed necessarily, but we look around and there's nothing to do. Maybe your friends have girlfriends she could hang out with, too.

It is really important that you talk to her but do not nag her into getting a job. Tell her that you will always be there for her even though she hasn't been herself lately and that you understand that losing a job can be really tough. Be calm and tell her repeatedly that you still love her if you still do. I think she is just lonely and her self-esteem is in an all-time low due to the fact that she has lost her job.
