A bit of advice for Helium Please...

I have been neglecting Helium for quite a while now. I never really caught on to how to improve my ranking there after they added the stars. So I guess that what I am looking for is some advice and suggestions on how to improve my ranking on the site. I know that to get the rating stars you have to rate so many articles, but the writing stars seem to give me difficulties. I am doing fairly well on Associated Content, but Helium seems to be getting the better of me. Any suggestions and advice from successful Helium writers would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Try leapfrogging a few of your old articles to jump start the ratings in that category. Also, try submitting your lower rated articles in the Helium forum for critique on making changes.

I managed to leapfrog 3 of them tonight. I had not thought about submitting them to the forum, though. That is a good idea. Thank you. I will definitely try it. I wish you luck there as well. It seems to be harder to make a name for yourself on Helium than on AC.

It is the competition. It does make you a better writer in the long run though.

Maybe you can submit a few new articles to empty titles. Many of us find that writing to empty title, and let the title stay non-competitive is the way to keep the writing score. I suggest that you do book reviews for books you read. It's unlikely that many writers read the same books and write the book reviews.

Thank you, I will try that as well. I did some leap frogs yesterday and that did help a bit. I will keep at it.

Be sure to keep an eye on the ratio of competitive articles. Helium only requires 10% of your articles to be competitive now so it's easier to write to empty titles and there is the empty title bonus as incentive.

I have neglected Helium and suffered the consequences (seen a drop in my writing stars). The only thing you can do is write more and leapfrog your old articles in an attempt to get a better writing score. Once you start posting new articles and improve the ranking on some of your old ones, you will see your stars increase. However, I have found that the more articles you have, the slower this process is because everything is weighted equally. The more articles you have the slower the increment of change. Good luck with your writing!

Thank you for the suggestions. I have been going through my old articles looking for ones to do just that with! I will see what happens from there.

I also do better with AC than I do with Helium. Let me log into AC and get my pen name. LOL, I am drawing a blank right now and cant remember...I have been up way tooo long at this point. I will post it in a sec. As far as Helium goes, boy is it hard to get a break there! I have leapfrogged 3 articles tonight and rated quite a bit, so I will see what happens.

I haven't been there for awhile as well. But I am more worried about the rating stars, since I haven't got any! I still have one writing stars and for the writing stars, you just have to write more decent articles and get published there and be in the top 25%.

It's really not that difficult to keep your stars. You just have to keep your score above 75%. Many people write to competitve titles that have hundreds of articles because if you are a decent writer it is easy t be in the top 25%. Howver, the changes in your writing score will depend on how many articles you have total and how often you post new ones.

I also have the similar problem. Now I have two writting stars, but i don't think they are stable now. if i post more i worry one will disappear. I think when we find out writting stars are low we should stop posting new articles, especially the competitive one. we need pay more time on our old articles to improve them and leapfrog the old ones. Until our writting stars up we can post more.

Never stop posting new article because your score drops. Your score will always fluctuate because of the competitive titles. People are always adding new articles and leapfrogging. The best thing is to counter this with new articles to empty titles.
