Income tax in U.S. Is it true there is no law for this? Is it really a fraud?

I am not living in U.S but I was very very surprised, after watching Zeitgeist ( I think it was in the second part, Zeitgeist Addendum) that in U.S, there is no law saying that the american citizens MUST pay their annual tax. There were 2 former workers in IRS saying this law DOESN't EXISTS and they stopped paying their annual income tax for a couple of years. This sounds very weird to me. So I am asking the american members of myLot, do you know about this? Have you ever heard about this? I doubt this part of the movie; I didn' t heard about any revolution in U.S. And I guess it should have happened if this is true... Is anybody able to put some light into this issue?
