I checked my main email account a little while ago and found that I have a confirmation email from a company called "Advantage Telecommunications Corp." They say that I placed an order with them on October 16th, but I've never heard of them before.
Included with the email was a copy of the form that was submitted to place the order. The only thing that is actually correct is my last name--the first name given is a variation of my own (a nickname) that I've never used, the address listed is one I haven't lived at in several years, and the phone number (which is supposedly how they'll bill me) has never belonged to me. On top of that, the date they've listed as my birthdate is wrong by almost 20 years, they pulled a random name out of a hat for the mother's maiden name field, and while the IP address the order was supposedly received from comes from a town not far from my own, I've been out of state since the 14th. Even the email address it was sent to is technically wrong, since I never use dots in it and this one had three.
The email says to reply if I want to cancel the order, but I've heard that responding to these things can result in more problems and/or getting more spam. I haven't been able to find any information on this company at all. Has anyone heard of them, or had something similar happen?

please forget that and never try to reply or contact with them...just like what did you say, if you reply this mail according to their request to cancer the order, I believe you will get more problem. maybe they sent this mail to you only for random, if you replied to them, they will confirm that this mail address is effective to them and worth them to go to the next step...Good luck...
