Dear friends in mylot,
I am a newly hired teacher in a public school here in the Philippines.
I graduated the degree BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJOR IN ENGLISH.
As a novice in the field of teaching, I encountered a lot of difficulties specially in terms of dealing my students. They have really difficulty in expressing their ideas its because they do not know how to speak the language. So, what I did was I went back to the basic and let them read and read and give assingments like finding the meaning of a word so that their vocabulary will be enhanced.. What else could be the effective ways to be imposed by me as their teacher and what shall they practiced to learn and improve the english subject?
May I have your ideas on how to motivate my students so that they will be more interested to learn about english...
Thanks..

I think there are many ways to motivate students. You can use question and answer method.Try to ask them the very basic English Terms and relate to them the importance of English Language nowadays.
You can also group your students into 10, then choose a leader. For each group, the members will icorporate some English Terms at least 5 words. The leader will collect the WORDS. Then, use their words by identifying into the parts of speech.
Say for example, 'school'. Ask them, is it a noun, a pronoun, adj, adv, etc. Then, explain to then the definitions for each part...
I think there's a lot more...
