Hi baluyadav, both are easy but it's quicker to respond to a whole lot of replies on ones own discussion than to keep moving around for things to comment on. The discussion needs to be interesting to oneself though or else it would become a trial responding to the responders whereas it should be a fun or there's no point to it all.

For me, responding is a lot easier than making my own post. When I think of starting a new one, ideas of getting too few or too much responses makes me have second thoughts ;) On the other hand, there are times when no discussion seems worth responding. So, both ways we may face problem! Still, responding seems easier...

I myself would rather do responses to others posts. I find it more to my liking because I have the freedom to pick the topics I enjoy and am knowledgeable at. I make just as much cash and keep my friends happy!LOL! When you do a post in order to make any sort of cash you have to comment on every response, this can get very boring especially when you have a high amount of people responding to your post! I don't post very often but when I do I get a lot of responses and normally regret doing that! LOL! Keep up the good work! tdemex

Yes, it is easier because we can pick anything we want on the existing topics to respond rather than to think of a new idea. Responding is just giving of opinions or views on a certain topic, answering a question or helping someone. Barging is a fun part when starting discussions because it can attract more responses and can generate more earnings when compared to a dry discussion or just a single response to a topic then leaving it and jumping to others. Barging on a discussion by posting comments to responses is fun and easy because the attention is focused on a particular subject. After responding, I try to post at least one or two comments on others to share my view to them and also for additional earnings.

Hmmm being new here at Mylot, I find it easier to post responses rather than posting discussions. By replying, I get to choose discussions that interest me or those I have knowledge of. I find it hard for now to start my own discussion since I have not gauged yet what most of my fellow Mylotters are interested about. So for now, I'm happier posting responses. Who knows after a month, I can start my own discussions, and I mean "true" discussions. :)

Hello, wengerts! Just a reminder, don't forget to use the search box on top before starting a discussion. Use it to check if the topic you want to post is already existing. If it is, make some difference with that to avoid duplicate topic violation that may lead to deletion of a discussion. I hope it helps.

Thanks Baluyadav! I hope I'll be comfortable starting a discussion SOON. I better do some brainstorming and list down interesting topics. :-)
For now, I'll stick with posting responses. I'm enjoying it so far, didn't I? Hahaha... LOL... :) Happy Mylotting too!

I like both posting discussions and responses. However, I prefer posting discussions over responses, since my questions get answered and I'm able to respond to the replies I receive. Posting responses isn't much different, though, in my opinion.

Hi,chris, ofcouese,it seems you have good stuff in you, which you are converting as discussions...other every member can't post discussions more.So keep posting quality discussions and wish you get more number of responses.

I think starting a discussion is easy when compared to responding. When you respond to a discussion, you should have an indepth knowledge about the subject else your response doesn't make sense to the reader. Hurray...I've made a successful response now, but had to think for sometime before responding.

I agree. Posting responses requires some time getting used to it. You also must have a certain level of experience or knowledge, unless the discussion your posting in is based mainly on opinion.

Hello there! Well, responding to discussions is easier for me rather than to start my own. Due to lots of existing topics, it is hard to think for a new subject because there is a chance that someone had already posted it but when I start a new discussion, I make sure that nobody had posted my idea by checking on the search box. It is easier to respond because it is just on sharing views on a certain subject and the topic was already given by others. A situation where some users start their own discussions with a common topic within several days usually happens on a controversial issue or when something changed in here such as the quiz section here. I noticed that when a controversial issue was on news, some users seem to be on a race where the first one to start a topic will have his/her discussion remain while the others will get deleted. That was a situation to explain that it is easier to respond rather to start a new topic. Have a nice day!

Hi,boogerman,i think it is difficult to start discussion as we are all attending mylot...with a population of nearly 200000 and millions of discussions posted by us..In this situation getting new and quality ideas to post as discussions, really tough job.But it is to attend for others posts and express our responses... some times duplication of discussions also may happen while we try to post, without intention or coincidence. All the best and have a nice day.

Posting a response of course. The topic is there for me to response. and if at some point I cannot relay to the discussion, there are many tips given by those who already posted their response. But I make it sure that I only read them as a stimulant to my brain. Creating a discussion sometimes requires careful planning and strategy on how you comment to each member's responses.
