I am watching hostel2 at the moment and it has some really gory moments. I love scary movies they make me jump and creep me out. I always snuggle close to my husband when I watch them. I remember watching the Freddy Krueger movies when I was a kid and they scared me so much. I watch them now and they are a little dated. What is your favourite scary movie? Do you think it would stand the test of time and still be good in 10 years?

Hi Carmelbg,
My favorite scarey movie is the Exorcist. I shouldn't say favorite because I hate that movie. LOL It scared me so bad when I was a child that I still can't watch it all the way to the end. My parents wouldn't allow me to watch the movie but, being a child and alittle hardheaded I just had to see it. So, one night when they where out I noticed it would be on HBO. That was my chance to finally see the movie!

For me, the first ever Hostel is the most terrifying movie these last years. It takes me back to the year of 2006, when the movie was everywhere. I had thought that it would have been a boring movie, because at the beginning we watched a lot of adult scenes. But reaching to the climax, I couldn't even breath! Especially when one of the characters was trying to escape! Couldn't imagine that!

asian movies really freaked me and scared me, make me jump too, try watching asian horror movies they are much more scarier and original, americans makes remakes from those like the ring, the grudge, tale of two sister, shutter, one missed call, pulse, etc...
my favorite is COMING SOON, it will really scare you....

I also love scary movies. I don't like the ones where you have a mad person running around cutting people up. That is to true to life. I especially love Vampires and Likens. They have to have a good story line and the actors have to be top rate. Queen of The Damned is one of my favorites even tho I have many. They are coming out with so many good movies now it's really hard to pick. I saw Zombieland the other night. It was a good storyline but wasn't that funny to me. I jumped out of my seat a few times watching that one.

For me the most scariest movie that I've watched is "shutter", very cool movie. And when I was a little kid the one that frightens me a lot and I don't want to watch is "Chuckie"! I get scared when I see him move and laugh, especially when he was all ragged up and stitches were all over his face.

i dont care much for some that have no real plot and are just blood and gore. i do like the Saw movies mostly because of surprises in them. I think the NUMEROUS HALLOWEEN movies are time tested. they still scare most today. I didnt really care for Hostel movies. my favorite creep movie of all time is Mr. Brooks. great phychological thriller.

There are a couple that I can think of! I'm thinking 'Demons' and 'Demons 2'. These movies are quite old, 80s I think but they were great movies in their time. I love horror movies and I tend to go for the blood and gore type! I guess this is one form of escapism for me! I think the best time to watch these types of movies are on a Friday night sitting in a dark living room and the time is about 1am! I remember the Freddy Kruger movies, they were great and quite scary too. I still enjoy the Halloween movies when they come on, they tend to repeat a lot but I don't mind that, I think they are timeless! Andrew

I dont have just one fav scary flick..but horrors are my all time fav genre of film so to pick one is pretty much impossible for me LOL..some of my favs are of course the classics like Carrie (the original), the Omen, The Exorcist and so on..and yes they have stood the test of time..Some of my other favs would be the remakes of some of the mentioned, Hostel 1& 2, Midnight Meat Train and the list just goes on and on..

the first poltergeist movie and the omen were movies that I found very scary. the grudge was also pretty scary. Sometimes the slasher flicks like halloween and the nightmare on elm street movies are pretty good also. You never really know what is going to make you scared. Years ago I saw a movie called Magic with Anthony Hopkins that really had me jumping out of my seat as well.
