Do you go to school/college/work when you are sick?

I never miss a day anywhere as I want to be perfect and avoid being absent to my work. Same with my school also as I used to think that even a single day missed in school may cost me a high burden to finish the tasks.

it depend on what the illness is? if it is only a cold, i will go to work as usual, there is no problem for me to do my daily work. but if i catch a fever, i would like to stay at home and have a good rest as when this time i will have no clearly brain,it is very hard for me to do everything,i don't want to trouble my colleague.good luck and have a nice day!

if i have a severe illness, then there is no point for me to go to school or college. it will just turn my condition from bad to worse..but if i got only minor sickness then i'll try my best to attend school that day..piece!!

When i am sick I take a leave at work even at school. I don't want my life to be at stake. When we are sick and we went to school, that is not only our problem , what will happen to us in a day, but we are only making a problem with our co-worker or classmates. Of course they too will worry for our situation. Also we are not in our 100% productivity because we are not feeling well. We cannot do our job , we can't focus. What we do need is to rest and go back to school or job when we are feeling better. Maybe you are very healthy, that you do not missed any school days. That 's good. you are responsible taking care of yourself.

Hello coolcat. I usually go to work when I am sick so long as I can suffer from it, but if I get a high fever, I will have to go to the hospital and ask for a leave like I did in early September when I was having a high fever and sore throat.

When I was in high school, I would get so happy that I'm sick so that I could stay home and be taken care of by my grandmother but I'm in college now and I couldn't afford to get sick and miss lectures. ~

well,it is very good habit not to miss work or class. However,if I was seriously ill,I would go to see the doctor. And tell my boss or teacher, when I am able to work, try to finish what was left to be done.

It depends on what the illness is. I try not to go to work or anywhere else if I might make others sick. I do work hard and try not to miss if it is only minor illness.

same here. I really never missed school and try not to be absent with my work. I just feel so guilty if I missed just one day, I would feel that a day of being absent is like been absent for a long time. There was just one incident during my college years that I have to missed school for almost a month because I have been under operation for some ailment. But still I went to school though I am not yet allowed to walk around, I just sit on my chair and good thing my professors were able to understand my situation. They decided to just let me stay in one room, it's just them and the other classmates will adjust with the schedule.

I think if you're sick with stuff like cold, flu, or any other airborne illness, STAY HOME! 2 or 3 days in bed won't be so bad, if you're otherwise good about being dependable at school/work... besides, some people (like me) have weak immune systems and just being near you (breathed on, let alone coughed or sneezed on) can get us sick. I get a respiratory virus of some sort (colds, RSV, bronchitis, etc.) several times a year, just from being out in public places like Wal-Mart, because other people can't be polite and stay home when they're sick. And when I get sick, I don't just feel crummy for a day or two... I can hardly survive for a whole week. I got a cold at the beginning of this month, and STILL have a lingering cough. Be considerate to the public, and don't make them suffer just because you want to be "perfect".

hi coolcat123, Of course I am. That was primary school. I was forced by parent to go to school. Because they though I am pretending. Actually not. When class started. I laid my head on desk. My teacher scolded me. i cried. I scared to told him. I kept it secret. Regards. C.M

in my experience i rarely get sick, but when i got one, it was very serious or it will last for days or longer than a week, when i used to go to school i dont like being sick, because when i got back, im filled with lots of homeworks. now im working i also dont like being absents, no work no pay, hehehe but sometimes i fake one because it either im tired of doing the some thing over and over again or i got a date!, hehehe

Normally, I try to, but I feel like some days I just can't take it. If I've been keeping a good record for a month or so, then I may take the occasional day off if I'm sick. Funny you should ask now, because as of late I've contracted H1N1 and can't be back to work until Friday.
