I was having a talk with my mother today and she said that she can remember my dad used to take the newspaper to the toilet to read. When i go to the loo i was thinking that you do not just sit there, but you sit there and think.Have you noticed when you go to the toilet you end up sitting there thinking of something?

I agree. When I am doing my thing on the loo, I do think too. Because I am alone and the restroom is very quiet. It just came out in an instant. What I mean is the thinking LOL. this is a very sensitive topic.

That was one of my mother's best sayings. 'Some of my best thinking was done on the pot! Yep! That was my mom! the subject is not always the most savory and sometimes I even take the darned laptop with me. Isn't that a hoot!? Can't leave it for a minute.

In a lot of ways I am like your dad was. I don't take the newspaper into the bathroom to read, but I always keep a book in the bathroom and I read that when I am using the toilet. Now that I think about it though, your statement that some of our thinking is done on the toilet is totally accurate. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've had a conversation with either my mother or my husband and I'll start the sentence with "I was in the bathroom and thinking about. . ."

Hi jugsjugs, I do agree with you, toilet is the most peaceful place that I go early morning and I find solitude where I can think straight what to cook for breakfast, what dress to wear going to the office and even solutions to unsolved problems. Besides, sitting on the throne as we call it literally relieves us from pent-up bad feelings and from there we can think of some good things to be done during the day. Cheers!

I use the bathroom alot these days, it seems. I guess I do have plenty of time to think while I am in there. I work seven days a week and it is hard to find time to do alot of thinking these days. I guess the bathroom is the best place LOL.

I do a lot of thinking on the bowl too but that depends on what I was doing because sometimes your stay in the bathroom may be lets say tumultuos and then well you cant do too much thinking then .However in normal times I od a bit of thinking there .I dont normally bring a newspaper or reading material because I usually find that to be a bit tricky.

I usually am not on the toilet very long just long enough to do what I have to do and then I get up and go to another room. My dad use to take a newspaper in the bathroom and took a while I think he was not thinking of anything just what he was reading in the newspaper.

I agree with your posted discussion.During the time when I am in the toilet, I can think well with some problems to resolve and my mind is working.

Yes. Some great ideas and songs came to life too in the toilet and bathrooms.lol. Its one of the most peaceful and quite place in the house and thinking while "in it" is such a good feeling. You mind will be loosen and relief as 'it" goes down the bowl. Just my silly taught about it.

I'd say I use the toilet for its purpose only...I think everywhere around the house, but most especially in my bedroom after the day is done or in the shower.

yes because you have a chance to sit and gather your thoughts. i find that is the case for me. that and in bed at night when i am trying to sleep. i usually come up with some sort of idea for a discussion on here (then forget later) or a solution to a craft problem or a new twist on a craft idea.

Perhaps the "epiphany toilet" from Scrubs has some truth to it. It is likely that some deep thinking is done while people are on the toilet because they need something to occupy their mind. If you are without a crossword or a magazine or a small electronic game, there is not much else to do but think while you are in there. Might as well.

Many people agree with this statement because this is the best place where u can think without any disturbance.

Yes, usually when I sit down there I am thinking about mylot or something. Otherwise, I usually just look at the tiles on the floor or on the wall. I just use the tiles to make imaginary lines and drawings, in my mind. Though I never bring any newspaper or anything there, not any books either, just myself...

Well. Thats the thing which do everyday. Reading news paper in the toilet and thinking about what happened yesterday and why it happened. And i even think about what i have to do for the day. It like creating the TO DO list without any disturbance in a silent place with full of privacy.:P. Sometimes i think so much that i even forget that i am inside the loo until and unless someone knocks the door till in breaks.
