It happened to me yesterday. I was sleeping and in the morning this incident happened to me. Well i can't explain to totally because i forgot most of it. Well what i remember is i was seeing myself lying down. Someone was there with me but don't remember who. And at that time i was in very much depression. I don't know why. And then i was being pulled somewhere totally dark. And after that i saw a rainbow. I was trying very hard to return from there. And all of a sudden i woke up from my sleep. And i was breathing very hard and also sweating (it was cold in my room). One of my friends told me that this happened to some other people and i could die. I have no idea on these things and also he could not explain it properly since he does not know much about it. What he said it might have happened to you because of you are very tensed or some kind of mental pressure. Well i am not mad that's what i know. So, anyone here experienced death? Or know about these things?

Sounds creepy. Hope you're feeling better about it today. I think it was probably just a bad dream though. I've awoken sweated and panicked before from dreams.

Hey there dark, I have had similar nightmares and.. surprise, surprise!! I am alive..lol But jokes apart, most people have strange nightmares like this. There could be several reasons that can cause this. Some reasons are in our conscious mind and some in the sub-conscious. If you are stressed, have had a traumatic experience, have bad sleeping/eating habits, saw a horror flick etc. then any of these can trigger nightmares. As someone has pointed out, while sleeping if the oxygen intake reduces, you might feel like you are choking. So relax.. everything is cool!

LOL...well whatever it was. But it was different from nightmares.lol I just can't describe it. And i am not doing anything like others said. But you got a point. May be something triggered that thing. The main thing is i am still alive.lol Happy living

Yeah.. I get these strange "experiences" while sleeping, where I can feel myself almost floating outside my body. It's like my limbs refuse to move, but I try to get up. I just can't get up and I am using all the energy I have to move my arms and legs, but it's of no use. The first few times it scared me. I felt like I was having a heart attack or something like that. Then I realized others get varied dreams like this too..lol

Hello darksorrow, It never happens to me. Uh! Reading your discussion already made me feel 'uncomfortable'. I heard that whenever you are dying, you will see some lights and if you follow the path, that will be end of your life story! Whatever it is, it sounds scary to me.

its nothing serious dark....happens to me all the time. probably you must have seen something dark or horror movies before going to sleep. what i have noticed is that these wierd dreams come when we least expect it....there need not be a reason behind why they come.

Hi shav, I did not see any horror movie or anything else. It just happened to me. May be from too much depression. lol

hey, Sometimes if we have slight fever at night, we tends to have nightmares and this is all rubbish about dying. And medically, when there is less oxygen going to our brain due to poor circulation(sometimes because of sleeping positions), we have this feelings of being dragged down by some unknown person and experience difficulty in breathing too. Rest assured most people have experienced this once or twice, so well, you are not to going to die or anything. See you around! dude!

I used to have something like this when I was younger. Back in my university days when I lived in a small dorm room. I would dream I was dying, and my spirit leaving my body. From somewhere in the ceiling, I would see my body sleeping on the bed. Then I would float around the room and remember touching my shoulders against some wall hangings that I had. Then I would try to get back to my body, but I would not be able to move or wake up. I remember wiggling my toes and saying a small prayer over and over again. I did wake up from those experiences drenched in sweat. Thankfully, those things don't happen anymore.

(this may be only a related topic) Personally, I experienced overworked pancreas when I was tired and I ate a heavy late meal before going to bed. Journals state the pancreas get overworked trying to digest food as the rest of the body sleeps. With every other system of the body at rest, pancreas overworked and cause a brain-related seizure experienced as a "nightmare" I'd say a prayer or wiggle the thumb of my toe... to recover ... Cheers
