I would like to know of people's experience with having a relationship with a bipolar partner and what different kinds of help have you went through to get them leveled out or is it possible?? I am married and have 2 children with a man that is bipolar and I believe is somewhat paranoid schizophrenia, he does not live with us anymore, he left 3 years ago. He is out in the world, not working and living off wealthy woman while the boys and I struggle. I know of no legal way to get any help from him when he lives this kind of life. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I have bi polar, and I will admit, it;s been very difficult for my boyfriend to remain as patient as he hs been. I cherish him for that, becuase it's hard to be close with someone who can't really control their moods. Some things he does is trying to direct my attention/negativity elsewhere...such as new hobbies, or tony robbins tapes, or meeting other women in the neighborhood...anything so that i'm not sitting home all day warping in and out of my mood swings... I appreciate sooooooo much, and try never to take him for granted because of this.

woops, got off on a tangent... as far as getting financial support from someone who won't do anything with thier life, I have no idea. That's very unfortunate.... I would consult a lawyer and see if there's anything the law could do.
