hi all. what's the color of your hair? have you ever colored it? and how many times you colored? my hair was black, but i went to barbershop to let my hair colored to blonde, and i felt a little bit freshed when it was colored, but after a long time, i think black would be better for me. maybe black hair is suitable for asian people.

Ya I know that, that's why i wrote in response that, I takes care for it.
I use daily hair massage before getting bath, and I use our traditional way to keep hair strong and silky,
Don't worry about that, I love my hair, In fact I love each and everything of mine,
In other way, I LOVE ME.

i think aslong as you take proper care of your hair and it wasnt unhealthy to begin with coloring your hair is perfectly fine for it. my hair has always been thick and strong and healthy so when i color it it doesnt seem to suffer at all. my natural color is dark brown thats almost black which fades as it grows out to a light red then blonde if i let it get long enough. but ive always wanted to dye my hair many fun brigt unnatural colors like cherry red and purple and even green! havent gotten the chance to do it yet but someday when i dont have restrictions like needing to look presentable for work or having work that allows that sort of thing i cant wait till that day comes. and i think asians can have different hair colors it just depends on the person like anyone else some people were just born with the wrong hair color!

I always colour my hair,as well as i now stick to the dark brown dye as that is my natural colour. The reason i do colour it is that i have grey coming through so i tend to colour it once every 2 months.I tend to get a friend or my mum to colour my hair as it is alot cheaper than going to a shop.

Hi! Currently my hair is a dark auburn. I've colored my hair many times. My hair is naturally blonde and I hate blonde hair. Everyone I've ever known who was blonde has been ditzy and very girly-girlish, so I think subconsciously I steer clear of that!
I've been brown, dark brown, reddish black, red, orange, auburn, dark auburn, strawberry blonde, and I tried to dye my hair black just two weeks ago but the hair dye was not of quality and it didn't work. If you know me and see me for over two months you'll see at least two hair colors. I honestly don't even know if my natural hair color would look the same now as I've been dying my hair since high school. I dye my hair myself to save money, and as of yet, my hair isn't getting fried. If it starts to I'll let it go for awhile.
Have you ever tried highlights? You could keep black hair but have a different color highlight. It's something to consider.

hi buping,
I had colored my hair once from black to mahogany red. I like the effect of it on my hair but my husband (my boyfriend before) doesn't want it. He had convinced me that I am prettier in black than in any other color. And so, that was my first and last hair coloring. Good Day!

I wish that Asian hair would agree to different hair colors so that more women would be more adventurous with their hair. But as it is, the natural hair color is what's best for hair. If not done correctly and maintained properly, colored hair may cause more havoc for the hair :)

Hii Buping!
I tried colouring my hair myself with the help of a friend.
I colored few strands of my jet black hair in red burgundy.
The effect was good but then it bleaches and dries the hair which
is Oh!SO NOT desirable!
After that i never thought of tryin to spoil my hair with colour.
And yes indeed, like you discovered Bblack hair are the best for asians
and thats y we have them!
Enjoy your natural color!!!
Cheers!

I have gotten highlights done twice. I have dark brown hair, and I got blonde highlights done. I was happy with the result, and so were others, coz I did receive several compliments.
Right now I am letting my hair breathe and get back it's old shine. I might try coloring it again.

Well i have never colored my hair but would love to try it once. Many of my friends have colored their hair and it really looks great on them. I also want to try but i am scared as i have heard that it may be bad for the hair.
But once i will surely try.

my hair is black too. and i colored it once to be light yellow. almost forget the color exactly, because that was several years ago when i was in the university.
but now i like the natural color, black. and there is also another reason, i'm afraid of hurting my hair, so i keep it natural.

hi yolanda, an important reason that i do not color my hair is that i am afraid of it to be hurt badly, so i keep it natural. and i would not color it for a long time. because i found that the natural color is more heathy and be shiny under the sunshine, i like it, so cool!:)

Hi there. I colored my hair only trice in my entire life. The color I had used was reddish brown and light golden brown. I love the dark brown more. It suits my skin tone. But since I already had a new hair cut, my colored hair is gone. It's now back to its original color which is dark golden brown. What a color it is. Haha.

Oh my hair color is not that obvious. It can only be notice if it's hit by a light especially sunlight. Well I actually love my innate hair color but it's also good to try and wear something new. Anyway thank you so much for the compliment. I appreciate it. Take care. :)

That is wild. I had never thought about an Asian person with blonde hair. I bet that most certainly makes you unique. And you would probably be easy to find if you were in a crowd of people, like say at the mall or something with friends, and they got lost from you. If all of the people in the crowd had black hair and you had blonde hair, you would stand out. I know if I get lost from someone, I will always try to remember what color of shirt that they had on.
As for me, I have never colored my hair. That is, of course, unless you count temporarily for Halloween or a pep rally when I was a kid. I used to put some paint or something temporary in it just for the fun of the holiday. But as for actually coloring it with permanent hair dye, I have never done that.
Interesting discussion, looks like there have been a lot of responses. Good work!!!

I have my hair is auburn now. I have been coloring it for a while ever since I turned mostly gray. I think I am going to try highlighting when I get the money. It is something that I have wanted to do for awhile. I did it once actually a couple of years ago. It looked OK. If I highlighted it I could leave some of the grey in and just kind of blend it.

I used to color my hair when i was on my 20's.Hair coloring was very in at that time and even now i think.I really had a beautiful, black shiny hair. When i started coloring it,it changed. It destroys the texture of my hair.So i stopped and never do it again. Now it starts to become balck and shiny again which is one of my assets, lol! They said it's one that makes a person attractive.Maybe this is true.I have seen women that has really nice hair and its natural.

Hi, my hair is black too. But when I was in college, I colored my hair about four times, I colored it brown, and red. When I in college, a lot of my classmates colored their hair, so I do the same thing, it seems so cool that time, but now I just like my natural color, and I think it's best for me.

My hair is black. And I once colored it yellow and somewhat gray when I was in university. I felt it very interesting. But my father was shocked. He didn't understand. He solded me. So I can't do it any more.

hi xingxing sky. most parents in china would not permit their kids to dye their hair to shiny colors, such as light yellow, red, green. they are too traditional, and they thought that the natural black is most beautiful. actually i agree with them, but some girls can dye hair in brown or blonde, i think that's ok.:)happy mylotting

Hi! I have seen the good and bad effects of hair-dye. I would still go for a person's natural hair color. I have never had a hair-dye and most of my friends envy my jet black hair.
