Lemondrop, I don't write novels but I do write and sell short stories and devotional articles. I have found buyers for my work in the Novel and Short Story Writer's Market as well as The Writer's Market. Check out both of these books and search for publishers who accept unsolicited manuscripts without an agent who publish books in the genre that you write. This will most likely be the smaller publishing houses. These books will also tell you how to submit material. Most publishers want a query letter first along with a sample chapter and an outline of your book, rather than the complete manuscript, but each publishing house works differently. You can also do an online search for publishers. Here's one to get you started: It doesn't hurt to get the Writer's Market books too because they have lots of tips and helpful articles in addition to market lists. Blessings on your writing endeavors!

What exactly did you send to them? I can pretty much tell you the big publishers don't look at unsolicited manuscript. You need an agent for them. You need to do more research about publishing. It isn't all that easy getting your foot in the door. I just self published my book.

You should be able to find out about different publishers by going through different books and seeing who the publishers were the addresses are even sometimes provided right there in the books. I would go and look at books in the genre you are writing in and find out who published them, and then I would send your books there, you should be able to find any addresses that are not already provided on the inernet.
