Or responding to a mylot discussion?
I notice that some mylotters are good at starting useful and interesting discussions. On the other hand some mylotters are very good at responding to the favorite discussions.
What gives you more satisfaction? Starting a discussion? or responding to a discussion?
To me I am happy when I start a discussion. I am happier when I get good response. But It is easier to respond the discussions than starting them.

Hi there, for sure that i am one who like to start a discussion, i like to talk about something in my yard...but sometimes when i have something to say i try to answer too.
For sure i am one who start discussions, i have so many ideas every day, just sometimes is hard for me just because is hard for me to express myself in English, but i try again and again..i am lucky with nice friends who apreciate more my ideas, not my skills in speak in English..i do my best

Nice to note that icesmile is having very good imagination ability. I am also having the same problem. My own language is not English and so I often commit mistakes while posting discussions.

I normally just respond to the discussions started by other members unless I have something in particular on my mind. I hit this site off and on throughout the day and I really don't have the time to think about discussion starters. The folks who do take the time to think about it usually start some interesting ones, which I one of the reasons why I enjoy this site.

For me it just kinda depends. I only start discussions when I have a good idea in my head for one. I don't just start one to start one. If I don't have any good ideas for discussions, then I go and reply to some that have already been started. I reply to discussions more often than I start them. I wouldn't necessarily say that either one is easier than the other though.

It is right that one should start a discussion only when he/she has the right idea. Nice to note jennlk finds both starting a discussion and responding equal.

Ithink that it is easier to reply to a discussion rather than start one.I was going to aim towards starting one discussion a day.I do enjoy doing both the starting as well as the replying. There are always good discussions that you can reply to on here,so i tend to do the replying now.

Hello dear brother,
Ummm..again,it depends on my mood.
Sometimes words just flowing on my mind and that makes my finger tap and start a discussion.
Other times,i love responding to friends discussion which is one of my habit everytime i log in here in mylot(checking friends started).
I always like to respond to discussion on my interests,it is easier to respond to topics that i can relate with, much with topics that are real life aspects /involvement.

I think that posting responses might be easier for me most of the time. I can usually think of a good amount of things to say when responding, and it is easier because there are so many discussions to respond to already.
Sometimes, though, I can start discussions fairly easily because I have a lot on my mind that I want to share. So, on some days I can start several good discussions while other days I'm more focused on my responses.
Overall, though, I think that I enjoy responding much more than starting discussions.

My idea before it is much better if I will just respond to a discussion because I find it difficult to manage my discussion. But since i discover members that starting even 2 to 5 discussions a day, with quality I envied them because they can earn $1 a day because of only that few discussion of them. Now i am thinking of starting a quality discussion of my own and still respond to discussion of my friends like you. I already proved that Mylot is on quality discussion so I could go for it. Too sad that I learned this after 3 years of being a member here in Mylot.

I think it is not easy to earn 1$ per day. I can never earn so much as I have limite time for mylot. thanks for the response.

i prefer responding to discussions rather that creating a new one. i do find that to be an easier thing to do. initially i did start some discussions but i didn't get much response for it. so i decided to stick to responses and also study the nature of discussions started. also i visit mylot at the end of the day, and responding to discussions is more relaxing rather than creating a new one.

Hi Vijay!
Well for me I find that starting a discussion is a lot easier for me... I can talk about nearly everything so I have no problem in that area.. It is just hard for me to comment on others discussions because there aren't so many things that I am willing to comment on! Well, I just have to search for it! Well thanks for the good topic! Have a nice day!

Hi vijayanths! Same here, if I get lots of responses to my started discussions, it somehow give me that exciting and fulfillment feeling. It is so nice to know the views of others. There are some instances that I encountered conflict of beliefs, but the good thing about that is the sharing of thoughts and picking up the pieces of information from one another.
I am happy when others appreciate and find my topics interesting to participate on. I always try to respond to all of them as my simple way of saying "thank you". Likewise, I also love to participate and share my thoughts and ideas about topics that I am interested with.
I think it is not the matter of which is easier to do... I personally enjoy doing both, but to be honest I spend more time in responding to discussions. I post new discussions if I feel that there is a need to share information, seek opinions and advice etc...

lovelyn, nice to note you get a lot of responses to your discussions. Of course when you post your views on a public forum people will pick up conflicts. You just have to ignore them and continue, thanks.

Well it is not always like that... sometimes I get fewer responses and sometimes none ...
Yes vijayanths, we really cannot avoid conflicts. That is normal in every discussion. People have different beliefs and views. I don't mind about that much, for everybody is entitle to their own opinions and I do respect them. .

I am happy when I star a good discussions that would collect a lot of responses. There are just some time that the started discussion would just have very few respondents...
I like evrything I do here, may it be responding, starting or replying. I really enjoy it here.

I would say resopnding... but I have found that if something gets me going during the day and want to know what others think about it also, I do seem to find posting easier... Depends on how I feel. Could feel like posting n get into responding... Or just respond alot!!! I have been responding alot this weekend but last weekend I wasn't too bothered with it...

Actually, I enjoy both. The excitement I have in posting is when people respond and I see the variety and richness of people's outlook of things. It can be a learning experience too being able to see things from different perspectives. Synthesizing the ideas gained helps to increase one's knowledge.
Responding helps a lot too. Putting my thoughts into words in a way that people will understand helps me to have a much clearer thinking. It is a good mental exercise. Then again, our knowledge of the English language is getting better each time.
cheers!

I feel the same way as you do. Starting a good discussion and getting good responses is soul satisfying. But we cannot start many discussions on the same day or at least I cannot start. But responding to others' discussion is easy. So I start a discussion when I get some idea otherwise go on responding to others' discussion. I do not want to start a discussion just like that. There must be some good point in it. Then only I will start a discussion.

I find it easier to respond to a discussion tnan starting one. I only started 5 discussions in MyLot lifetime. I think that to start a discussion one must really put a lot of thought in it, make it as interesting as possible. I'm simply no good at this.

I usually respond to discussions. I don't know why, but I find it easier. Unless there is some interesting topic on my mind I don't have the impulse to start a discussion. Another thing is that I feel obligated to comment on every response. That takes time; although I am interested in reading all the responses, sometimes I don't feel that I have any good comment to write. I have to say something though, so it usually ends up being one liners. I also enjoy reading all the discussion topics. I guess I just like answering peoples questions more than asking them. Maybe I will try to post more discussions in the future.
