Should YouTube be allowed to have users remove their music from their videos? I can understand if a person had just uploaded the song with no video, but I think that it is very greedy of the RIAA if the person's video was not infringe on copyrights (i.e. have background music in a homemade movie).

I'm not sure all i do know is, that they have to remove music that hasn't been authorized to be used on youtube. Since it can lead to serious legal trouble, since its like giving out music that may COST money to buy!

Coppyright material can be a very tricky thing. According to US Law they are required to remove audio, or block audio (or in some cases video) that doesn't meat cirtain criteria. Copyright owners can, and have claimed that cirtin music is infringing on them and Youtube is required to comply how redicouls it may be sound. At First Youtube wasn't going to do anything, but some record labels actually sued them for improper use of their content. (basically the owner didn't give permission to youtube or any third-party) to digitally distrubte their meterial. I think it's nuts, but I can't argue with the law despite my feelings on the subject matter.

Correction, they are allowed to remove videos, it's their site they can do almost anything with those videos. They remove the audio when there's background music used for which youtube does not have consent to have it online.
