I had moved out of my parents house just a few days after my high school graduation this may, but I recently moved back in with them. I love my parents and like being near them.
Do you keep in contact with your parents? or parents with grown children do you keep in contact with your children?

Whoah, why did you move out after high school?
I am 29, and I am proud to say, I'm still living with my parents. There's no sense of going out because of the following:
a. Who's going to take care of my parents and their home? Like cleaning, piping, cooking, etc.
b. Now that I have a job, and not yet married, it's the best time to spend time with my parents and now that I can afford small luxuries there's no one better to spend it with than my parents. They deserve this attention because they've been paying too much for me all my life, it's time to at least share the bill.
c. Renting is tempting, but I'd rather use rent money for something else or even to pay for bills for my parents' home.
and a lot more.
I think our setup works because we get along pretty well. My parents don't want us out, and since we're already earning, then the bills are divided equally among all of us, it's like having housemates but not worrying if your housemates are thieves or psychos.

I also moved out of my parents' house after I graduated from high school, as I was studying in another city during my college days. When I finished studying, I started working in the big city away from my hometown too. I haven't been really staying with my parents much since then, but I still go back to my hometown at least once in a month. Now, I am married, but I still contact my parents always. I love them very much, and I tried to call them often though I couldn't always see them.

This is a really good discussion and I am sure that different people have different opinions when it comes to keeping in touch with their parents, and when it comes to me,me and my wife currently live with my parents and we will until we can afford to get a double wide and then we will live behind my parents, and I love my parents, and I love being around them, and seeing them, even though sometimes they get on mine and my wives nerves about stupid things,so it will be nice to be on our own one day, even though I know I will miss living at my parents house, have a great day, good luck with your life, and all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

hello mattier...
i am no longer living with my parents since i get married for 5 years now...but even if i am not living with them, i still have regular communication with them, like i always call the, send text messages...things like that...and once every year, my husband & i go to their house for a week long vacation & during those days, i see to it that i spend the whole week only for them...you know, do some bonding moments with them and make up for the days that i am not there...
if only i have a choice, i will choose to live near them or even with them, to take care of them & look after them...but too bad for me, coz i've got no choice, since my husband's work don't permits us to live in the same place as my parents...but my parents do understand it, that's why somehow i am thankful...

I was 17 when i moved out of my parents house, and started my own family, and i have never moved back in with them.
I live about 10 hours away from my mom, My Dad Passed away 6 years ago and i only get to visit whit her about 2 times a year. but i talk to her on the phone everyday.
I have 8 grown children and they are all on their own and i am in contact with them every day. most of them live in different states, but we talk on the phone and we all have facebook pages so we can share pictures and talk back and forth. and we get together when ever we can.

..oh yeah.. I value my parents as very important people in my life.. Never did I miss communicating with them even now that I'm married.. Once in a while, I check on them.. We were brought up with closeness in the family so even life is hard, we are still happy because we know we have each other no matter what.. Parents will always be parents and we have to realize that we never had the chance to be in this world without our parents..
